I absolutely LOVE that product !!! The smell is amazing !! It helps retains the moisture in my hair, a little bit goes a long way it is not too heavy!! My favorite oil!!
When i used it to blow dry my hair, my hair was light, soft, not dry!!
Obviously the big downside is the price!! It's a great oil but way too expensive !

I am not a fan. The smell is extremely strong and gives me a headache with one spray. It is not really bad, just overpowering and perfumey. The good thing about this oil is that a little goes a very long way (I use one spray for my whole head). It does add shine but gives my strawberry blonde hair a dark, wet look. I do not consider this a light oil because the molecules are too large to absorb into the hair shift but rather sit on top of the hair. It is very thin like a serum but it makes hair look oily and stringy with only a small amount. My hair is 3c and baby fine. This adds a lot of shine but does not tame my frizz at all - just makes it really shiny frizz so it's even more noticeable. It is so expensive that I will probably try to find someone to give my bottle to.

I love this oil! I have tried just about all of the oils... and all they ever seemed to do was make my hair sticky or just coat the curls and add frizz. I am on my second bottle already, went with the large one this time! I tried it after and before leave in conditioner while wet, and it made my hair to puffy/fluffy. I like it much better after diffusing and almost dry. I spritz it on the ends and voila! It's great for second day hair as well. It makes my curls soooo soft! Best oil on the market for curls in my opinion!

Nice and light hair oil. used it a couple times to blow out my hair and my hair was so soft and smooth. very moveable.
ok the smell: it smells like hair is being...flat ironed? i can't explain it...but the product works so well that I'm willing to overlook that haha

My 2C hair doesn't always agree with oils, but it loved this. I sprayed it in the palm of my hands, warmed it up and then applied it generously on my ends. I also used it more sparingly further up my hair. I love that this made my hair feel so soft and healthy, not sticky or heavy like other oils I've used. I'd definitely recommend it for dry ends.

WOW WOW WOW...and wow! This oil is incredible. Instant softness, shine, definition, elasticity, and moisture. Ouidad is hitting the ball out of the park with their latest launches, and Mongongo Oil is going to be a classic. Like most of Ouidad's products, this seems quite pricey, (I'm used to the oil prices of Dr. Miracle's and ORS at Sally's), However, this is so, so concentrated the bottle will definitely last for months. I spray it on my palms, rub my hands together, and distribute through my hair for either SOTC or right after washing. It has a pretty, light floral scent that's similar to Ouidad Co-wash. After using the "pony tail" application, my hair instantly has more elasticity and less frizz. I've learned the hard way that no matter how brave I am, I just cannot use products with lots of silicones (particularly dimethicone and cyclopentasiloxane) in multiple products, or on more than special occasions. It builds up on my low porosity hair to the point that my hair begins rejecting everything. Most of the argan oil formulations with multiple silicones (including the iconic Moroccanoil) on the market cause more trouble than they're worth. Mongongo Oil is a pure blend of oils, vitamins and penetration enhancers devoid of silicones. Probably that's why it has a chance of working in my hair...my hair gets a chance at absorbing the oils, rather than overloading on silicones before the oils get their chance. This is definitely in the "miracle" category for me.

My new go-to miracle product. It's perfect for breaking up crunch, defrizzing mid-day and adding moisture. And it's one of the lightest oils I've found. CurlyNikki was going through such withdrawals after running out of her supply that I had to send her my bottle.

A solid oil treatment. I wasn't bowled over as most of the other reviews because I tried it in warmer, more humid weather initially and I had some fluffiness only where I used it. But in cooler temps, it was solid moisture. I really, really like that it doesn't use silicone to make the oil dry-textured but lets the oil be more straightforward.

I really like this serum. It's great for frizz, gives great sheen and great for sealing and doesn't weigh the hair down. the serum also protect against UV rays however I'm not a fan of the price or the way the product smells. The scent is too strong.

NaturallyCurly.com sent me another gem from Ouidad to try and this time my socks have been knocked off... Well, Aztec print house shoes if we're being technically correct, but I digress...
Part of the Salon Series by Ouidad line, the Mongongo Oil is marketed as a multi-use hair treatment offering strands deep nourishment, protection, smoothed out frizz and boosted shine. It has no silicones, sulfates, parabens or waxes... what does that all mean? It's pretty freaking awesome without tons of bad stuff. And like we all know, good stuff doesn't come cheap. The oil is sold in 2 sizes: $36 for 2 oz and $58 for 4 oz.
Before you start to have an epic meltdown over the price to size correlation, let me say that NaturallyCurly.com sent me a 2 oz. bottle to try and though it may seem on the small side, a few sprays of this oil goes an extremely long way. I've average about 2-3 sprays for my entire head... meaning I spray 2-3 sprays into my hand, rub together, then distribute. Donzo. That's it. My results typically last a few days... think 3 or 4 on average. So, I won't use more than 6 sprays a week. Looking at the rate I've been using this oil I could easily see it lasting 3-4 months. When you put that into perspective it doesn't make the sticker shock so bad.
What the site claims the product does:
This super-concentrated, multi-tasking serum is infused with Mongongo Oil, known as “hair food” in Zambia for its high vitamin E content and superb regenerating and antioxidant properties. With American Palm Seed Oil and Broccoli Seed Oil, the formula restructures hair as it deeply repairs damage to restore a healthy appearance to even the dullest locks. By forming a protective film over the hair fibers, hair is instantly more manageable and has a natural, healthy-looking luster. It coats hair to protect against UV rays and environmental aggressors to help defend against damage. Further, it protects hair from aggressive heat styling and helps speed up drying time.
I could immediately tell my strands were coated and feeling shinier and smoother. My drying time was noticeably shorter... it shaved off drying time similar to how my Brazilian Blowouts do (cutting it by like 50%), and heat styling with my flat iron took only 1 pass. I honestly didn't want to like this stuff because it's expensive. I'm being 100% honest lol. The last thing I needed was to become hooked on a product that didn't cost $5-$10. I'm not really cheap, but you know... I don't want to drop $36 for an oil. However, after using this oil the past few weeks I've definitely changed my mind. It yields consistent results, and the results are unique enough to not be duplicated with a cheaper product. I honestly haven't found anything that gives me these types of results other than the Brazilian Blowout... which is expensive, but of course is a chemical treatment (though temporary). So, in terms of an at-home DIY hair treatment, Ouidad knocked it out of the park! I'm completely smitten with the Mongongo oil. It makes my strands happy and heart smile.

This is the absolute best oil I have tried and believe me, I have tried them all. Macadamia, argan, Ojon, and they all contain silicones. My hair likes certain silicones but not the ones they use in these oils. The fabulous thing about the Mongongo Oil is that it contains NO SILICONES! My hair is in love with this stuff. When I went to get some of the new Co-Wash at my local Ouidad salon I saw this oil and decided to buy the 2 oz bottle ($36). Now I am thinking I should have bought the big one (4oz/ $58). I wasn't sure how it was going to work and that's the reason I didn't buy the big one. If it didn't work out I would be left with yet another oil in my arsenal of oils. Thank you Ouidad! I will be buying this oil for many, many years to come!

I love this mongongo oil! First of all it is so fun to say mongongo and it doesn't stop there. This oil is light enough for my curls and offers just the right amount of moisture. I have been using it for scrunching and midday smoothing. A little goes a long way which is a good thing because it is pricey but well worth it.

Awesome product. Doesn't weigh hair down, and acutally speeds up drying time. LOVE the smell! Best oil I've ever used

i have tried i think every hair oil out there and this one blew this all out of the water! i love that it also contains castor oil so i think it will help my hair grow. also LOVE there's no silicones in it! so many "oils" i pick up at ulta the first ingredient is silicone. this stuff is the real deal. my hair is softer than it ever felt in my life! love the shine it gives. i have been using it prior to leave in conditioner on wash days and then a little bit daily to help with frizzies and flyaways. by the way, it also smells very yummy!!!
