Recoil Shampoo’s lavish formula includes our C3* which hydrates and encourages curl and natural bounce, while controlling frizz and adding protein for strength and body.

*C3 performs on 3 levels:

  • rice amino acids penetrate the hair shaft to provide moisture and strength
  • biofermented fruit acids help shrink the cuticle to encourage curl
  • fatty acids present on and in hair are decreased to improve flexibility and smoothness.

Weighed my hair down. I have fine, low porosity hair

Prior to moving to very arid Nevada from extremely humid Florida, AG's Curl Activating Shampoo was an important tool in my HG arsenal, but for the past year and a half living in the Wild West, I was sadly forced to switch to a different shampoo because for some reason, this shampoo now makes my hair look worse than an overgrown tumbleweed; it just doesn't provide enough moisture in this part of the country. However, while I lived in Florida, the Curl Activating Shampoo, along with the Curl Activating Conditioner were the answer to all of my curly, frizz-free prayers. As with all other AG products, it smells awesome. But I'll just have to wait 'til I move back to the eastern part of the US to use it again. :(

Good shampoo, but after a say a month of shampoos, I needed to use more of it to get clean. I noticed more curls when combined with the conditioner.

Just hands down my favorite shampoo (plus re:coil conditioner). If I want to have my curliest curls, it performs the same consistently. And I absolutely love the smell.

This product does not work for me. It left my hair feeling gunky and even frizzy. Gasp... For whatever reason, curls were not part of this experience at all. So sad because it smells really good.

This shampoo can be a little drying, but it wasn't too destructive on my hair. I definitely did notice an increase in curl pattern which I was very VERY happy with. The shampoo smells great! For more defined and springy curls, I would absolutely recommend this product!

This shampoo striped my hair of all its moister and I hated it! Don't use this product if you already have dry hair because it will make it dryer. This stuff is worse than a clarifying shampoo. called it a "No Poo" when it contains: sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, and sodium C14-16 olefin Sulfonate. Thankfully my DevaCurl One Condition saved my hair and gave me back all of the moister and made it soft. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT AGAIN!

This shampoo left my hair feeling VERY dry and tangled. I did notice slightly better curl formation but the cons clearly outweigh this pro. Since it did give me better curl formation I can see how this may work well for some people but for me it was horrible to feel my hair that dry and tangled.

I have dry, porous 3a/3b curls, and I had been reluctant to try this line for months. Stupid me. Some of the BEST hair I've had in spring and now in summer have been using Re:coil. So, I got the rest of the line and love it. This poo smells pleasant and sweetish, cleans nicely, does not dry out my hair. A couple days ago, I used the whole shebang--this poo and AG rinse out, Fast Food, Re:coil and the HardJel, and had a GREAT hair day in the middle of hot subtropical summer. Nice. Totally recommend, especially in conjunction with other AG stuff.

This shampoo made my 3a curls dry and tangled. I saw no increase in my curl pattern.

Great product. Cleansed my hair well and didn't leave them dry.

This shampoo didn't strip my 3a hair & make it feel a tangled matted mess like other sulfate-free shampoos have. I didn't even need conditioner after using this.

Great sulfate-free shampoo- still lathers quit a bit but does not strip hair. Combined with conditioner is a fantastic curl enhancing system! I would recommend for wavies and curlies that want more volume and curl.

An amazing cleanser. It's gentle, sulfate-free and still has a lather. My hair felt clean but very soft. Got rid of buidup too.
