I've never been motivated to write a review, good or bad, but I had such a bad experience with this product I have to record it!
I untangled with coconut oil, wet my Type 3B, colored hair and washed it with Aphogee Curlific Texturerd Hair Wash. I noticed it tangled my hair as I washed but figured my conditioner would untangle it. It DID NOT! It caused my hair to MAT UP, I've had to spend hours untangling with the results of breaking and pulling my hair out and finally cutting out the matted hair!
The only product I changed in my normal hair washing routine was to add this product. I tried it because I've used the Aphogee Curlific Leave In and liked it. I am so hurt by this experience - I would sue if I could. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

I normally co-wash my 2b/2c hair, but use shampoo after coloring once a month. Thought I'd try this based on other reviews. Just a small amount lathers well and it rinses out fairly easily and did not strip my color, bit I do find it a bit drying. Seems my hair really does not like shampoo, even the sulfate free ones. So far, I find the Elucance moisture shampoo works best for my hair, being the least drying of the ones I've tried (so far 5 of them).

Bought this today, just used it for the first time and I am extremely satisfied! Didn't dry out my hair and I could see that it was loosening the tangles in my hair. It worked very well with my other products.

I used this for my hair after I bleached it blonde. Needless to say it was in a damaged state and this was one of the few cleansers I felt comfortable using.

very light formula, gentle on my dry hair, and did the job for moisturizing and cleansing.

I found this product at Sally's when I was looking around. I have tried, over the years, to find a product line for my daughter's curly hair. I knew that sulfate free is better, so I thought I would give this a try (like many other products, I wasn't expecting to be wowed). I am AMAZED! Finally her hair looka healthy, shiny and as a 13 yr old it's a very easy regimen for her to do. The leave-in spray and curly cream are awesome too! For us this works the best, give it a try.

As a cleanser, I think this product did a good job in cleaning my hair without feeling completely stripped or making it feel "squeaky clean" (I did three rinses). I liked the fragrance of this product, but like many shampoos and cleansers, this product was ok for me-not bad at all but I wouldn't declare this as a "holy grail" product.

I was pleasantly surprised by this shampoo. I have been using clay washes and thought I would never want to go back to shampoo. This shampoo lathered well, did not strip my hair and left it feeling soft. I have never experienced that with a shampoo! I really like it and would recommend it for anyone wanting a mild cleansing shampoo.

The textured hair wash smells pleasant and does a great job of cleansing my hair. My curls were soft and I didn't need to use it twice like I normally would for my thick hair. I really enjoyed this product.

As a cleanser it does what it says. My scalp was clean and my hair was soft, not as moisturized as with my regular cleansers, but not stripped. I was able to do a little detangling. It has a flowery perfume scent, not too bad. I found for myself the scent got stronger when layered with the other products from the line. I will probably use it as a clarifying shampoo. I only gave it three because even though I am ok with the results, I'm not convinced enough to replace what I'm already using.

I really like this hair wash shampoo, I did not use it much since I prefer to cowash but it did a great job of cleansing my hair and scalp.

I love the way this shampoo lathers up and cleanses scalp. I usually have to do apply shampoo twice but once was enough. It was average on its detangling claim but it did elongate my kinks. which was surprising because my hair always shrink once wet.

This is a gentle, moisturizing cleanser. It's one of the better sulfate-free cleansers I've tried. My hair felt clean but not stripped.

I have used many a curly hair product over the years, and like to give everything a few tries before making my mind up on a product. That being said, if you had asked me on my first try of this product, I would have told you to throw away the bottle just based off of the smell. However, as one of the other reviewers mentioned, it seems to be a trend that sulfate-free products tend to have overwhelming fragrances for some reason or another. Knowing that, I continued to give this product the benefit of the doubt, and I'm glad that I did because it is a quite decent product for the price. As other reviewers mentioned, it is very much a cleansing wash, as my hair did feel quite stripped after washing it out. It has a good lather though, didn't leave any residue or dandruff, but I could also feel my curls separating pretty dramatically. My curls like to hang together, but I felt like after washing with this cleanser, it was impossible to get them tame again even with the extremely heavy deep conditioner that is associated with this product. It gives volume to your hair, which would be great for thinner haired folks, but for the overly-maned such as myself, the last thing I needed was more volume. After using it for a straight week, the smell didn't bother me at all (I actually came to like it a lot), but my dog seemed to begin to confuse me for her new best poodle friend. I think this would be a great wash to have around for a once in a while deep cleaning, especially if your other wash (like mine) leaves residue after using it for too long. I would not, however, use this as an everyday/every other day wash.

I quite liked this wash. It has a nice light scent. It lathers up pretty well for a sulfate free wash. I would definitely buy this product.

I liked this wash. It is very gentle and I like that is sulfate and paraben free. It has a fresh, light scent and does not leave any residue. My hair felt soft and moisturized after using the product even before conditioning. I will definitely continue to use this when I need an alternative to my co-wash.

I started out on untangled hair and I was scared going in. As I rubbed and smoothed the product in my hair, it actually began to feel moist. When I rinsed I did like the ringlets in my hair which I usually don't see from a shampoo. My hair was not tangled and matted and it was clean and soft. Overall it was an OK wash but I think we are all looking for that shampoo that cleanses but has the slip of a conditioner and this one is not it. It was a good try though.

I have co-washed my 3B hair for years, but when I saw this new product I thought I'd give it a try. I am beginning to suspect that the cleansing elements in "sulfate-free" shampoo must stink beyond belief. Every shampoo or co-wash I've been using for the last 3 years has been highly fragranced, and, to my nose, none of these fragrances are "fresh" scents. For example, Hair One Argan Oil smells like Vicks Vapo Rub, No-Poo smells like a head shop, Ouidad's Climate Control sulfate free smells like a hookah bar, and even Wens have a "cough medicine" accord. Curlific Hair Wash smells like the kind of perfume that makes surrounding strangers abandon elevators and trains. It's a very "feminine" scent...floral...and STRONG. It's cloying in my scent-clingy hair.

Curlific is a very nice cleanser; creamy, rich, and deep-cleaning. I feel like it's just a bit too harsh for me, because it left every centimeter of my hair "squeaky". When I was lathering it on my head it felt like it would detangle my hair, but unfortunately I rinsed, my hair became balls of straw. I used the spray conditioner to combat this, but I needed a LOT. The conditioner did smooth out my tangles nicely, but my hair still felt squeaky, dry, and crackly, especially at the ends. I will likely try this shampoo again at "clarifying time", but I will be prepared to follow it with a heavy, moisture rich conditioner.

Solid sulfate free cleanser. My hair wasn't dry, matted, or tangled after I used it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable shampoo that won't strip their hair, but I still have my favorites.

4 and 5 curl ratings are usually for things that make me want to switch products completely. This shampoo was good though!

I really liked it. Its free of sulfates. It smells good. Seems to moisturize as well, for a shampoo to moisturize this well, thats great!

Perfume like smell. I have used their pink bottle product and like the way it activates my curl. This product has the no sulfate, no paraben and it made my hair soft. The conditioner adds to the hair wash and made my hair even softer. I will stick with this product; plus it's very affordable.
