I tried the Cleansing Pudding from As I Am and didn't find much use for it because I have more build-up on my scalp than I think it was made for. lol I think I'll try this Clarifying Shampoo. To me, co-washes and low-poos are for the hair. Shampoo, especially a clarifying shampoo, is for the scalp. I don't even distribute shampoo throughout all of my hair because I know it will strip it too much. If I do, I massage it into my hair for a hot second and rinse it out. I use a hot oil treatment prior to shampooing. Also I use a scalp spray to loosen up the build-up so I don't have to leave the shampoo on too long. Then I just work the shampoo into my scalp. Then deep condition overnight. Considering the fact that I only shampoo once per month. It's perfect for me.

This made my hair scary dry. It took a couple conditioning treatments to get it back to good. I think I'll opt for a ACV spray thru next time I need to clarify. Ouch!

I was not impressed with this shampoo. It is sudsy-which I don't like. It is drying and stripping which I understand could be the fact that it's a clarifying shampoo, but there's better quality clarifying shampoos on the market. Asiam products have not worked out for me; I have tried 3 so far with disappointing results. I absolutely love tropical, coconut scents and their products have an after smell and don't seem to blend well. I can't wait to be done with their products, I have already given some away-and I really like to find alternative uses, but yuck, Asiam doesn't work for me.

Great lather, calming scent. It cleanses well and doesn't leave the hair feeling dry or brittle. A good shampoo.

I got my very best two step Henna/Indigo results ever when I used the As I Am Curl Clarity Shampoo to pre-treat my hair! My henna went onto damp hair that felt very smooth and clean, not rough and dry. I sat for two hours under a bonnet dryer on medium heat with the my henna, and thirty minutes without heat for the indigo application. The results are beautiful and I am so happy that I have finally found a hydrating clarifying shampoo.

This product does clarify, however it clarified too well. My hair felt so stripped and dry that I had to deep condition and then use another conditioner after that. Also it smells awful!!! It smells like rancid coconut.

Awful. Just dried the mess out of my hair, I probably should stop trying this line.

Very good clarifying shampoo. The first wash takes more product, but the second wash you can feel all the buildup being washed away. The smell is not noticeable and my hair is super clean... Remember to moisturize and condition right after.

I rarely use shampoos, but I did have the opportunity to use this product. It's ok as a clarifying shampoo.

This stuff is strong! After being "strictly" CG for over a year, I started "cheating" because I love to try new products. I still completely avoid harsh sulfates, because my hair naturally behaves like it's freeze-dried, but I can't deny that with occasional use I get great hair results from some silicone serums and/or styling products that can cause "build-up". This cleanser is, ultimately, what lead to my decision to broaden my product usage. It cleanses so thoroughly I know I can easily get my hair back to it's un-built-up state with one wash. I can use this only when I have some build-up though, or it's much too drying and harsh. I will always have a bottle of this handy. Even if I use it once a year, nothing else cleans like this, and it's cost-effective, and smells delicious.

This clarifying poo didn't get the gunk out of my curls (had some serious cone buildup), based on how my curls behaved after use. Also, it was STRONG stuff because my hair was rough and parched after using and some of my hair coloring that I'd done 2 weeks earlier was stripped out. It also didn't distribute the best through my hair, even when I wet my hair while trying to work it through. Therefore, I had a use more of this poo than the normal poo or clarifying poo to get it all over my head. I do like the ingreds because some are allergic to traditional clarifiers, but for all the stripping it did, to not remove what I aimed to clarify out--that wasn't cool for me.

I used this after I had used some serious silicone products. It cleaned my hair very well. It was almost too clean. I will only use this product when I really need to get a lot of product out of my hair. I think it would dry my hair out if I used it on a regular basis. It gets the job done but is an over achiever for sure.

this product was just okay. It cleaned my hair and definitely didn't strip all the moisture, but it felt a little thin. For some reason I couldn't adjust to how thin/watery the product was. It wasn't the worse, but I don't feel the need to order again.

A good clarifier, but it left my hair feeling too stripped.

It was okay. I had high hopes for this but it simply does not clean well enough for me. I had castor oil in my hair and this did not help remove the oil build up, even with multiple lathers. My cleansing cream (not aia) and hydrating poos did a better job. It did not strip my hair which is a plus.

TYPE 3B-3C
this product is absolutely not what i was expecting. it does what it says in removing buildup thats for sure but it really stripped my hair. to the touch even still under the water of the shower my hair had no slip and was just as "rubbery" feeling. squeaky clean i suppose. did not like this particular product but i like the idea of a harmless product. i may try it to clarify while cowashing? but i will definately give AS I AM another chance !! hopefully the next product will give me better luck.

Not the best to me. I used this product this week for my monthly clarifying (since I don't use a lot of product) and my hair felt crunchy after using this and hydration elation as a DC. I'll keep searching but not counting it out yet.

This is great for clarifying. I wouldn't use it too much though because with frequent use I think it might be drying, but it does what is says. After using a co-wash you need something like this every once in a while to remove buildup. I use it with Hydration Elation and my hair looks great. I have to say that this is the best overall line for my hair. My hair is between a 3b and 3c. It really is hard to really tell what type my hair is! Sometimes my curls are loose but I have a lot of sprials and it tends be blonde and frizzy if I don't use the right products. These are great and not too expensive.

I like this... I like it a whole lot! My hair felt clean but not striped of moisture. It's definitely a keeper... Up front in my pj drawer. :)

Excellent clarifying shampoo. Hair was extremely clean but not stripped. My curls were supreme. Will definitely buy again and highly recomment.
