This product exceeded my expectations! It had a lot of slip (not sticky) when applying it, and it instantly clumped my curls. Also, my hair didn’t take forever to dry! It took about 5 hours for my hair to be 100% dry which is great considering the thickness and length of my hair. There was a light hold that was left over when my hair was completely dried, so it wasn’t too “crunchy” however this may differ with certain textures. As far as this product elongating my curls, I’d say that there is some truth to that. Compared to my styler-free hair, this gel does “elongate” my curls a bit without them being weighed down. However, compared to the EcoStyler gels, there isn’t much of a difference in shrinkage which is why I personally think that Aunt Jackie’s Don’t Shrink Flaxseed gel is more of a curl-enhancing than a curl-elongating product. The curl enhancement may give your curls the appearance of being elongated but you will still have shrinkage. The product itself is a clear gel that is light to the touch but thick enough not to slip out of the jar. The scent is similar to that of a tropical perfume.

loved this product! I have 3c/4a hair and it worked well on both textures. didn't elongate any better than ecostyler gel but it didn't leave my hair crunchy which I hate! so definitely my new wash n go go-to product. Doesn't have a strong smell and is a great alternative to a stronger max hold like Ecostyler. This will give you a medium (7/10) type of hold.

Decent product. Don't mind the smell or consistency.

It's ok for the price. Won't repurchase again. Ok smell and texture but didn't provide the finish I was looking for when I use Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I thought it would be similar but it's not.

Okay, this gel was not what I expected when I opened the jar. When I think of flaxseed gel I think of a slimy, snotty consistency. Not the case here. This gel reminded me of the Super Wet Aloe gel that I used to be able to get from Wal-mart. At any rate, I do like the definition (if I had to type my hair I'd say it's mostly 3C with a few spots of 4A at the crown and high porosity) this provided and it worked well with the coconut oil and Kinky Curly Knot Today that I used as my sealer and leave-in. Also, my hair dried a lot faster than it normally does with gels and I had very minimal frizz.
It's overall a decent gel with a decent price point but I can't give it 5 stars because this gel does not "elongate". I had the same amount of shrinkage I have with every other gel I've used/tried.

I'VE ONLY USED IT ONCE BUT I REALLY LIKE IT AND IT MAKES MY CURLS POP

I have finally found my HOLY GRAIL gel!!! This product has worked wonders for me in the past 3 weeks. It defines my curls so well that you can literally see each individual curl. It eliminates my frizz by like 90%! Maybe even 100%. This gel also reduces my shrinkage significantly without making my curls look stretched. My strands are smooth and have a healthy shine to them. And when the gel dries I don't experience any flaking and my curls are extremely soft. It could also have to do with the conditioners and other stylers I've paired Aunt Jackie's curling gel with. I have tried this gel with a few different leave-in conditioners and haven't had a problem with using the products together. This curling gel pairs well with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed Moisturizing Conditioner, Oyin Handmade Shine and Define Styling Serum, and Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp Conditioner. Soon I will be trying it with Kinky-Curly Knot Today, and a few other products.
My hair type is mostly 3C, with some 3B (back of head and around the edges) and 4A strands (middle of head).

My wash 'n go is truly au naturale--kinks get winks in my world, know what I mean? In my book, the tighter the curl, the cuter the girl so that being said, I don't mind my 4C shrinkage at all. However, the name of this wonderful product had me at hello! Why? Because if there is a product that can elongate my curls, then I am up for the challenge!
Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils Don't Shrink Flaxseed Elongating Curling Gel consists of the healthiest natural ingredients for our hair types. The gelatin consistency and pleasant fragrance won me over and I couldn't wait to feed it to my hair.
Long story short (quite like my hair...ha!), after thoroughly applying the product throughout my hair, the curlykinks maintained its extreme shrinkage. I was disappointed but not disheartened. I still believe Aunt Jackie's Curls & Coils Don't Shrink formula is a great product and perfect for other hair types.

I recieved this product for review. I was hesitant to use it because I do only use truly natural products. Still, I gave this a try. As others have said this product has a great smell however it is extremely easy to make flaxseed gel. It is, also, cheaper to make your own flaxseed gel. I used it for a wash and go on my 4a and two weeks later I used it for a twist out. For me, this product is best for twist outs because it doesn't have a lot of hold when using a small amount.

Great product. It was used by me and other members of my family who are natural. I love the smell of the products. It is lightly scented and leaves your hair smelling and looking great.

I must say this stuff is the bomb!!! I have tightly coiled 4b hair. I have had very few products that gave me a great twist out, plus definition. This gel did just that. I used the shampoo, coniditioner, and leave in conditioner first from the product line, then I used just little of this product to do my two strand twists. I didn't saturate my hair with the product at all. A little goes a long way. For each twist, I used a denman to smooth the hair and applied the gel. I left my hair twisted for two days. WOW!! My twists were so defined!!! I am thouroughly satisfied!!

The first thing I noticed and loved about this product is the smell. It smells AMAZING! The consistency is just about perfect. On day one I get tons of compliments on my curls. On day two it is a lot softer curls and the compliments aren't as plenty. I would say the hold is a lighter hold because of the looseness at day two and three. But the shape of my curls on day one is what I would consider my perfect curl. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because of lack of day two hold and the packaging. I'm not fond of dipping my hands into the container because I usually have hair on my hands after running the product through my hair and then having to dip my hands into the gel again gets a little messy. But all in all I will definitely be purchasing this product!

OMG! I love this stuff! It glides on the hair like buttah and defines curls so well. Also it does not take that long to dry and controls frizz really well. I have been through several gels and they all says that they "control frizz" and don't...but this one doesn't claim to and actually does! I love it! It smells great and a little goes a long way! When the hair is dry it has a nice shine but looks natural.

I was sent this for a review! I had high hopes for it but it was just ok. Didnt provide much hold, id say great for twistouts but definitely not wash and goes. Great smell and nice consistency. I have 4a hair and I need a lil bit more hold in my products

I was sent this product to review last week and I have been using it every day since then! And I am a product junkie so I do have many other options! I absolutely love this gel! It has a pleasant scent and when applied to my wet TWA gives excellent curl definition, even into the second and third days! There was no crunchiness at all! You don't need to use a lot of this product to get great results!

I Love it! I used this gel for a twist-out and it made my twists look great. From this product I received no flaking, no stickiness, and as promised NO SHRINKAGE! After I do a twist-out and it dries I usually put on a bonnet, and the next morning my hair would have shrank. With this product, my hair remained the same length as before I covered it for the night. This gel has a light sweet smell which I like, and a little goes a long way. Great product.

I was sent this product to test out and I really like it. It leaves my hair super soft and movable and moisturized (unlike other gels that make my hair crunchy). It weighed down my curls a bit so there wasn't as much shrinkage, so it does what it claims to do! Also, I had a little bit of heat damage on my ends from straightening my hair and this product brought life back into my curls!! I am so happy! However, I am not giving it a full 5 stars because when I used it in combination with other hair products (on wet hair) it caused all these little white specks of product to clump in my hair. They went away when I shook out my hair and let it dry fully, but it was just a little bit annoying. It's totally worth it though, because the finished results are AMAZING!

I really like this gel!! I used it on a wash n go on very wet hair and I got a little bit of hardness but it did not flake at all. Nor did it leave that sticky white residue. Also tried it on wet hair, then diffusing....still love how it turned out. Love it!!! Would re-purchase!

First, my hair is VERY fine and porous, so it is easily weighed down by products if I am too heavy handed. That being said, this gel didn't weigh my hair down AT ALL, which I am greatful for. It has a light floral scent that isn't too overpowering. The consistency is what you would expect for a gel minus the stickiness. In fact, after rubbing it between my fingers, it left a silky feel on my fingers. Its a light gel, but its not slippery like other gels I have used. I used it on freshly washed hair, right after using the quench intensive moisture leave in (that I will review soon). I sectioned my hair in about 8 sections and raked a quarter size amount of the gel through each section, then two strand twisted my hair. I noticed right away how moisturized my hair felt, even after it dried. My hair was shiny too. It didn't elongate my twists much, but to me the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I also use this in my daughter's 3b curls, and her hair also stays moisturized and defined through out the day. I will definitely be buying back ups soon.

I was sent this product to test out and review. I did two different styles before deciding to review. I first deep-conditioned my hair and then co-washed it. Aftter co-washing my hair, I applied the Aunt Jackie's quench moisture intensive leave-in conditioner in four sections of my hair and sealed the moisture in with coconut oil and then applied this curling gel to each section as I finger-coiled it. The next next week I did a wash and go. This gel has a sweet light smell and did not weigh my hair down. My curl definition was amazing and my hair dried very soft with the two styles I did with this gel! However I don't think it elongated my hair very much if at all.

I used this product on both wet and dry hair. I used it first on stretch hair to pull it back in a bun. It was a very light hold no crunch. It was what I expected from a flaxseed gel. I then used it for a twist out updo. When I applied it in my hair it felt sticky and it did seem to help elongated my curls. After letting it dry and taking out my twists my hair feels very soft and moisturized and the curl definition is wonderful. I also let my mom use the gel on her 3c hair for a wash and go and she said that while it did elongated her curls it was slightly crunchy and tacky. The smell of the product was not overwhelming and it didn't lingering. The consistency of the product is same as normal gel. Which was very surprising to be flaxseed gel. I really have no complaints about this product and will definitely be using it again.

Having five biracial kids that each have a different hair texture, I am so glad to have tried this product for my middle daughter whom has the coilest, thickest, dry hair of all my girls. I knew immediately that this product was different, right away the product managed to keep the curl a curl with bounce and movement, and I noticed the sides did not shrink up as they normally due with other products. In addition, we do have to apply ALOT of this on her entire head because of the texture and thickness however there was no flaking or white residue anywhere. The product makes the hair a little hard however you don't know unless you touch it, the curls move and blow like nothing is in the hair...I would strongly recommend this product, I wish we would have found this years ago, and now after always keeping her hair in a bun, she wants to wear it down because it looks long and healthy.

This product was good. It smells very pleasant, has a light consistency and did not weigh down my hair. I applied it right after I applied the leave in conditioner and it went on very well. The only thing is that I don't think it elongated anything much. My twist out was the same length it usually is. Overall it was good.

This is a pretty good gel that has an amazing fresh scent.
1. I used this product for one week in order to get an accurate feel for how my hair reacted to it.
2. Upon initial use, I applied the product to freshly washed and deep conditioned hair on top of Aunt Jackie's Quench Leave-In Conditioner.
3. Hair is not left feeling weighed down at all.
4. When applying, be sure hair is damp.
5. I applied the gel to my edges on dry hair and after dried, it tends to leave a white flaky residue.
If you're looking for a product that adds moisture while elongating curls, this is the product for you. Just make sure you use on damp or soaking wet hair.

I combined the gel with a bit of Quench for a two strand twist. The gel dried quickly and thoroughly . The texture was light with a lovely floral fragrance, that did not over power. I was excited to see the twist out, and was not disappointed. The curls were beautifully well defined. Very little of the product was used to achieve above average results, without a hint of residue or crunchiness. Day two, of the twist out the curls were still evident. but less defined, but my hair was soft, and moisturized. This product is a must have for a naturalista's hair care arsenal. One of the best gels ever tried.

I like this gel. I used it on a dry perm rod set & it didn't leave my hair hard at all. Very nice hold. But I also used it on a wash n go on very wet hair and I got a little bit of hardness but it did not flake at all. Nor did it leave that sticky white residue. I must say I found the perfect gel for my rod sets. Love it

I love the light scent and not too thin not too thick consistency it has. I didn't expect it to make my hair as hard/crunchy as it did but I have thin hair and may have applied too much, but it wasn't as crunchy as other gels I've used. This provides the best curl definition of any product I've ever used and the day after I first used it, my curls had less crunch, a lot of hold, and still well defined without having to add more gel, or anything, just some water! This is the best gel I've used so far. I'm on day 4 hair and I still don't need to add anymore product. I would recommend this to anyone with any hair type looking for a good gel with great definition.

This is definitely the best gel I have used so far. Holds well without that dirty residue left behind. I was worried about using over my entire hair and it was a little crunchy but my curls were defined all day.

I loved loved LOVED this product. unlike other gels that i have used on my hair this one did not i repeat did not leave any traces of white residue behind. It took only about 20 minutes to go through my hair and about 2 hours for it to dry. There was a bit of a crunch to my hair after it dried but i liked that and it was softer the next day. I did my wash and go with this product 3 days ago and my curls are still popping.

I love this gel. I do use the Curl La La with it for extra moisture. I love these new products. This has a light scent just like all of her new products. This has great hold. Love it!

I use this with Curl La La. I think it needs the extra moisture but I have ordered the Baby Girl curling custard and want to see how that works. I love all of these new products. I have now ordered the Quench too. Thank you, Aunt Jackie, for another great line of products. These are so moisturizing and have a light scent. This gel complements the Curl La La but I do love Curl La La.
