I liked this just not as moisturizing as I thought...

This is my absolute HG product; I just ordered a 16 oz jar of the stuff with a quarter left of the 8 oz jar because I can't be without it. I love that this product (and indeed, the whole company) manages to use all natural, organic ingredients in their products while still making products that work better than the artificial stuff you can buy at the drugstore. It's a little pricy, but worth it for the quality. But to the point - this is the perfect mix of the aloe vera gel and moisturizing ingredients so that you get incredible curl definition, pretty decent hold and awesome moisture. I use this to do my twist-outs, braid-outs, and roller sets and I get shiny, moist, frizz-free curls. My hair (4a/4b) holds curls pretty well on its own, but this makes my twist-outs last around 2-3 days. But even after the twist-out starts to fall out, my own natural curl pattern takes over and I still have pretty amazing curl definition (especially if I moisturize well) so I can easily go a 5-day workweek without re-twisting my hair! If you want to try it you can get a 2 oz jar on the website.

Smells good, easy to smooth into my hair. Perfect for finger coils, twist outs and wash & go's. Love it so much I purchased two on the second time around.

I have 3c/4a mixed hair. This was okay, it was very moisturizing which was good but with my leave in conditioner it left my hair a little too greasy (which is very rare for me). But overall I thought it was worth a try to see if it works for you. The hold was more on the light side- it really just felt like a leave in conditioner with a little bit more hold than normal. It's worth a try- it ends up being the one you keep for a random day you feel like switching things up and look back at all your old hair products.

I have a mixture of 3b/3c/4a, fine curls and I love this product!!! I consider it my HG:) I use this on my twist outs and love, Love, LOVE the moisture and shine I achieve! My best results are achieved on freshly washed, wet hair. After washing and deep conditioning, I apply the Kinky Kurly Knot Today leave-in conditioner and add the Bee Mine Hold Curly Butter to each section AS I TWIST. I have a lot of density to my fine hair so I may need rewet sections before I'm done twisting. (On my 4a sections I find I need slightly more product, but please note a little goes a LONG way!) Dry as usual. I usually air dry over night, but I have tried it under a hooded dryer and blow dryer (with diffuser) and the results were awesome. (I find my hair was a little frizzier/bigger with the diffuser though). I hope this helps someone out there:)

3a, fine&porous, medium to high density.
I tried this in al kinds of dew points, but it just doesn't work for me. At all. There is nothing wrong with the ingridients, maybe its the amount of glycerin that is causing me problems.

I am in the middle on this product, it has a nice smell but the quantity was just ok. The product itself did nothing amazing for me but it wasn't bad. However it curled my sons hair very nicely. I will not purchase this product again.

Twirled some on a couple of parts of my hair dry and it gave me some nice curls. Would like to see how it would turn out on wet hair all over my head. Very rich and creamy.

This is a staple, I have to use it with Qhemet burdock root butter cream and JBCO , together the three are almost an HG

LOVE< LOVE this product but not as a stand alone, it lacks the oomph to moisturize my eternally thirty hair. After a dc and a leave in, I use this mixed with a bit of the Qhemet Burdock Root crème as a daily moisturizer. by day 3 of this treatment, my curly coils are lush, yummy and shiny and very, very happy and bouncy--by day 3 though. If you buy this as a stand alone HG, you might be disappointed and oh yeah--I do not use it as a butter or styling tool, it is so light, to me it remains just a moisturizer with the misleading name. LOL

This is the best for defrizzing my twists. I use it to finger coil and it leaves my hair defined and elongated without any residue. I would def recommend

After watching HeyFranHey's review on this, I was so excited to try it. This dried my hair out sooooooo much! I called and spoke to the owner herself and she said to use the hair milk underneath. I had purchased the largest jar so I used it all because I didn't want to waste the money. Will NOT repurchase.

I really liked the smell, but...
This completely dried my hair out. I think this is more for looser curl textures. My little ringlets laughed and then coughed :(

It's a soft light moisturizing hold. It's not going to hold like gel, but will give your hair definition and your curls will snap.

I have 4b high porosity natural hair and the high glycerin content in this product did not work for me. The Butter left my hair soft but completely undefined. I will try it a few more times before final judgement, but for now it does not work as a styler on my hair. Love the Balancing Moisturizer though.

I tried this on my twist out...LOVED IT. I think this is the best looking twist out I have had in a while. Great definition and soft hold. I used it with the Curl Junkie Hibicus & Banana Honey Butta Leave in...Love that stuff too!

I just ordered this product...used it on finger coils/curls and loved it!!!!! It is not water based so I can use it on dry hair and it will not frizz. It actually calms my frizz wonderfully and provides a soft hold. The hair still moves and is not stiff or crunchy...; ) I will try on my 2 strand twists next

My hair LOVES this!! This will be my fall/winter hair regime go-to from now on!! Worked extremely well with my twistout and my puff updo. My twistout lasted for 7 days, I didn't have to add any more product at all. My puff looks fabulous and these edges are fierce! Thank you Bee Mine :D

I love it. It really defines my 3c/4a curls. For me personally, I loved it for a good wash and go and twist out. Once I used this with a penman brush (knock off) and I loved the way it turned out. Good moisturizer for 2nd to 3rd day curls. I haven't had any problems with using it thus far.

Try as I might, this product is not for me. I've tried it in various ways, according to its packaging and even using my own techniques, but it is not meant to be with Bee Mine. The texture is like a paste, not in a bad way, and smooths onto the hair pretty easy. It didn't have any hold for me and wasn't something that gave me slip or provided any real moisture to my 3c/4a curls. Don't use this on dry hair, because it won't absorb properly-for me, I had to scrape don't the strands of my hair to remove globs of white. My edges were not smooth and I've gotten better results with conditioner alone or a little shea butter. After the first use I realized I used a ton and, even while being conservative with my styling, I've used 3/4 of the jar in just 3 uses. On a positive note, I did get a nice twist out from it on the third try.

The product did not work very well when used after hair wash while the hair was still humid. However I used it on dry hair, applying the butter section by section before braiding, and my hair felt very soft and moisturized. Overall a good product.

The PJ in me got the best of me with this product. Im a 3c/4a and it did so-so for my hair. And it did not have hold in my opinion. I gave it 2 stars because it did make my hair feel moisturized....and that' s all

I loved the definition it gave my hair after a twist out, but I didn't like the fact that it left my hair "product-y" My hair was soft to the touch, but I felt residue (think mineral oil) and I never liked that feeling. I actually enjoyed my free sample of Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie 10x better and I'm heading out right now to buy it from Target. As far as Bee Mine, I'm going to keep playing around with it, however my own mixture of "house" ingredients appeared to be better on my hair than this product.

I love this product. I was looking for a butter that was a little bit lighter than Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine. This give me the right amount of moisture and is perfect on my retwist. A little goes along way.

I love this Bee Mine Butter. This is my farvorite for my braid outs. It does leave my hair defined, super soft, shiny and healthy looking. I love the scents, it remind me of summer and is very troipcal. I also really like that all the ingredients are healthy. My all time farvorite. :)

After reading so many positive reviews on this product I couldnt wait to try it. Unfortunately it doesnt do much for my curls. It weighs them down and gives me a producty feel for my wash outs. I think this product is better for styling hair in styles like twist outs, braids or something along those lines. I probably will not purchase this product again but I did love the smell. The only thing this product does for me is slick my hair down when wearing it in a bun/ponytail. Personally i prefer a product that has a light hold, decent smell, and doesnt weigh the curls down...this product wasnt it :(

I like this for hold. It does not get hard and is moisturizing. I use it on the front of my hair when I pull it back into a puff. I plan to try it for twisting, but I don't really need a strong hold for that.

Has a very light hold on it's own which is not enough for my baby's curls. But when combined w/the Bee Mine Luscious Cream Moisturizer it works well.

Posted by laurrob (Type 3c) on 11/07/2010

Has a light hold. Smells very good. By the end of the day the hold is gone, not sure if that's because of the product or my hair sucking the product up. I think it will work better as my hair gets longer.
