4A&B with some C,fine and low density hair. This product is my HG of twisting butters. It smells amazing, I love the consistency. I don't like the price, but because I am smart with product application and making sure I rotate between other similar products, I can deal with the cost because it lasts forever. I've had my container for 8 months now and I'm nowhere near halfway.
The reason this is my HG is because it really moisturizes my hair and adds essentials oils, without weighing it down. I love that my hair is soft and fluffy during summer, so I'm hoping I will get similar results when winter comes knocking. I've used it on both damp and dry hair, and I love the results from either one. I highly recommend!

I've fallen in love with this product for my twist outs. It gives nice balance of moisture and a soft hold. I recommended a leave-in underneath and letting your hair dry fully (my mistake) before taking them down or you'll have soft fizzy hair lol. Over all very impressed with this product. Love the smell. I'll definitely order again.

My hair has mostly S with O patterns in the back, mostly fine with a medium and coarse strands sprinkled in. The fine strands are silky and the medium/coarse strands are cottony. I only wear wash & go's or wash & puffs, no twists.

1st impression: I used this on freshly washed hair as a one-step leave-in/sealant/moisturizer. I would prefer to have one perfect curl cream. Due to the abundance of oils, I thought this cream could moisturize and seal my hair, but it doesn't. My hair started out soft and moisturized, but the abundance of humectants (castor oil, honey, phenoxyethanol, etc.) eventually sucked the moisture out of my hair. My hair was more shrunken than usual when it was fresh. As the moisture escaped from my hair, it shrank even more. At no point did this butter make my hair shiny.

2nd impression: On freshly washed hair, I applied leave-in (KCKT), sealed with oil, layered this butter on top. The leave-in and oil protected my hair from losing moisture due to humectants. This butter added softness that I don't usually get using KCKT and oil alone. On the first day, my hair also had shine...which KCKT and oil don't provide. This butter doesn't provide shine to my hair on its own; so, this was a bomb combo.

This is also my favorite way to use this product. My hair was very soft and moisturized for days...I have a problem maintaining softness even though my hair is fine. This butter doesn't provide hold, but my coils remain naturally defined for a couple of days before frizz takes over. I also experience more shrinkage than usual...I don't care about that, but you might. I like this butter as a third step, but I would not re-purchase. For the price, it needs to be a stand alone product.

3rd impression: It worked well to refresh a wash & go on day 2. I had a significant amount of frizz, but my hair was less shrunken. My hair usually shrinks more as the days go by due to moisture loss; so, that was a notable difference.

MInus one star because this product does not leave my hair moisturized on its own...as the description implies.

I have a mix type 3c/4a hair and this butter was the bomb! I cowashed my hair with as I am cowash, twisted my hair with this butter and sealed my ends with coconut castor oil. And twisted my hair, then 2 days later untwisted and BAM! I has super defined twists. Right now I am on my 4th day and the twist out still looks defined. I would def use again!!

I usually use Shea Moisture or As I am products. I have 3c fine hair, so it's difficult to find the right product. I was skeptical at first, because of the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I used the Almond Jai Twisting Butter for my braid outs and wash-n-go's. This is the only product that I found that leaves my hair soft and moisturized, but not sticky, and there is no frizz, which is something I battle with. I mixed this with Darcy's Botanicals Curling Jelly and my hair looks fabulous. I found my second holy grail product. It was worth the $16.99 and it smells wonderful. I will be purchasing another, when this runs out.

Love it! I have a multitude of styling products since i am a member of curlkit, and none work like this. I use for all my twist styles and straw sets. In the past, I sometimes used taliah waajid curl sealer on the end of the twists so that the ends were not frizzy, but actually I really don't need the sealer. As a matter of fact the sealer with this, made some of my ends straight, really weird. Again, this is the best twister out there that I have tried.....to date. Hope the positive reviews don't cause the price to increase!

I LOVE this product!!! First off, It smells like cake batter, it's super smooth, and a little goes a LONG way!!! I used it for my mini twists, I'm on 4th day hair right now, and my hair is still super soft and moisturized. It gives oay hold, but I'd reccomen using a light gel with it.

Awesome butter...I will definitely be buying again. I set my hair in twists (saturday) and untwisted the next day, my hair was super defined and oober soft. Today (Wednesday), 4 days later my hair was still soft and oh so shiny. I met a random lady in the store and she asked me if she could touch my hair, after I agreed, she was in aww..saying my hair felt so soft and was impressed when I told her I only had my hair twisted for less than a day and had great definition. The best thing about this product is that there's no protein. My hair hates protein.

I decided to buy this after watching a bunch of Youtube videos about this product and I absolutely love how thick and moisturizing it is, I put it under my wash and goes combined with Koils By Nature's Shealoe- Leave in and Kinky Curly Curling Custard, my hair stays soft for 4 days. I actually purchased B.A.S.K's Palm Tapioca and it was grossly overrated as a moisturizing butter, the Almond Jai Twisting Butter is on my HG list now, plus a little goes a long way.

(Side Note: I wish Curlmart would let us choose the samples, because most of them are of products that contain stuff I would never put in my hair; I always throw them in the garbage.)

I never write reviews but for this product, I had to. The first time I tried this butter, I applied it on clean, conditioned, damp, and finger detangled hair (cleansed with Jessicurl Cream Cleanser and conditioned with Darcy’s Botanicals Pumpkin Seed Conditioner). I applied it in 12-15 medium sections which I then braided and air dried over night. I didn’t apply any leave-in conditioner underneath or oil to seal because I wanted to see how this butter would perform on its own. When I unraveled my hair in the morning, my hair was plump, shiny, moisturized, not too shrunken (I think because I applied on damp and not wet hair), and smelled pretty nice. I will say some sections were more moisturized than others but I think that’s because I slept on a cotton pillowcase without a scarf on (terrible, I know). The product is white but doesn’t leave a residue or gray cast on my hair, it’s super thick, so thick that it doesn’t come out of the container when upside down. It goes on smoothly enough, I wouldn’t say there’s ‘slip’ but then again, it’s not a rinse out conditioner and don't use it for detangling purposes. It has a distinctive cake batter/almond scent that does linger in the hair but it’s not overwhelming. At 16.99, this is a little steep for a hair butter but if you catch it during a holiday sale or even if you buy it at full price, I would say it’s worth it. I'd like to take off half a star for the price, but I can't. I do think that his 8oz jar will last me a good 6 months because I plan on rotating between this product, the CRN aloe whipped gel, and whatever styler and leave-in combinations that I come up with. I also plan on using it to re-braid my hair at night and for wash n goes in the Spring. It does provide some ‘definition’ to my curls/kinks but that usually happens when my hair is adequately moisturized. I know that some people find this helpful so I'd say that my hair type is 4a/3c. I personally don't think that this classification is a perfect representation of what my hair looks like and I can never be sure (hence the 3c in my profile) but that would be my guess based on charts i've seen online. If you’re looking for your curls to 'pop', I wouldn’t say this is the best option as it does not provide enough hold to do that but it's decent. My second day hair looked fluffy and shiny and there was some definition, but I wouldn't use this product alone if definition and hold was what I was looking for. Other comparable hair products which I’ve used are Shea Moisture’s Curl Enhancing Smoothie and the Cantu Shea Butter leave-in cream, but these tend to leave my hair dull looking, aren’t as thick in texture, and have less ‘natural’ ingredients. I’m really excited to keep trying stuff from this line because this butter is a great moisturizer for my hair. I’m so glad I took a chance and ordered this because of the cute packaging!

Love this twisting butter. So far this twisting butter is the best that I have used that adds better definition. The twist-outs are well defined and it left my hair soft. I have low porosity 3A, 3B hair and I used this with my curl milk and it worked great. This will last me quite sometme as I use this in moderation.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this stuff! It makes my 4b curls soft, fluffy, and well moisturized. A little goes a long way. I've used it on wet and dry hair and have gotten stellar results both times (of course on wet hair I get more shrinkage). This is definitely a staple product for me and I can't imagine not having a jar of Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter around at all times!

There arent enough curls for me to fully rate this product. i purchased after reading all the positive reviews and can not believe i've been walking past this stuff every time i went into my local target. it may be $17 but it is totally worth it, if i could show you my jar you would ask if i actually used it. A little goes along way so this stuff will last and it is the first glycerin free product ever to leave my hair still felling moisturized not oily after 4 days and my 3 day old twist out still looks amazing. I have found my fall/winter staple and the deep conditioner is nice too.

I really wanted to like this product. My type 4a/b hair typically loves butters for twistouts, but for some reason, it hated this one. It appeared to be working fine when applied, but my hair was SUPER dry and frizzy when taking the twists down. Luckily, I purchased it from Target so I was able to return it.

I was kind of nervous to use this because my hair is a little AVJ sensitive and low porosity, which means I get build up easily. A little goes a long way with this. It does moisturize and soften my hair without making it greasy and gives fluffy, defined twist-outs. I don't mind a soft hold because I don't like stiff or producty-feeling hair. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the scent. It's not too strong, I just don't care for smelling things in my hair for days so I tend to avoid scented products. Also, it's not available on ground where I live so I may or may not purchase again. Otherwise, it's an excellent product. First cream that doesn't make my hair an oil slick.

I ordered this product based on all the positive reviews I've seen on websites and youtube. This product goes on really smooth and feels great, but I probably won't purchase it again since there are other cheaper products that yield better results and provides more moisture than this one. It provides a soft hold, but my expectations were a little higher I guess. If you're looking for a firm hold, this is not the product for you.

This is a new staple in my natural hair routine!!! In the search for products that works for my dry, thick hair, I read the reviews and gave it a try. I am so glad I took the chance on it because this has knock out all other creams and twisting butters that I have ever used. This product melts into my hair and makes my hair so soft. The smell is light and not overpowering. My hair has never felt so nourished. It works well with Carol’s daughter Monoi products and the As I Am line of products. A little goes a long way so it is worth the price. Thank you Camille Rose and please do not ever discontinue ;-).

Hair stats: transitioning, MBL, 4Aish, low porosity, protein and AVJ sensitive

I was using the original formula of the Camille Rose Hair Milk but decided to try this one after all the good reviews. This stuff is AMAZING. Like, seriously amazing. I use it as a leave-in, a moisturizer and as a styler and each and every time I use this, my hair is left soft and moisturized and the moisture lasts for days. It also has excellent slip which is something I need while transitioning. I highly recommend this product. Although my LP hair has a hard time absorbing some products, it definitely loves this one!

I have 4a kinky-curly hair and have read the reviews for this product so I really had high hopes but unfortunately, this didn't do it for me. Like other CR products, the application is awesome - it goes on so easy and smooth. I personally would prefer less or no fragrance in my hair products, however, I got past the scent. My hair was very soft when the product dried but I had no hold and even less shine. I tried it on two-strand trists and the look was OK for one day but that was about it. I will not repurchase this product.

So I saw great reviews about this product and thought I'd purchase this product. This product is awesome. It is very hydrating abd gives great definition. I used it for twists and to shingle my hair for a wash and go. When I put this product in I didn't have to moisturize again for the next 3 days. It also has great slip and makes it easy to detangle. I will definitely but again when I run out.

My hair loves butters during the fall and winter months only (however it can't contain shea butter/nut oils). I personally will not repurchase this product b/c of some ingredients and the price is a bit high, but I think it would be great for others who (like me) have low porosity, fine strands, and dry hair -but are not allergic to nuts.

My hair is low porosity so it tends to not allow products to work through the hair shaft unless of course you break through the hair shaft and this product has helped me so much with that. My hair doesn't flake, it feels silky and my twists are gorgeous. I have found my new favorite product. I also like the fact that she is a vegan and isn't just natural with her hair but with her lifestyle. God Bless.

This is by far one of the best products for my wash and go style and bantu-knot-out. It smells amazing and feels great applying, not oily (day 1-2) and moisturizes well. I was able to keep my wash and go about 2 days, and then do bantu-knot-outs for days 3-4 with this amazing twisting butter. After 4 days, I now think its time to wash and condition again since it is building up some, not much though. I used this in combination with Oyin's burnt sugar, so I am not sure if the semi-oiliness at day 4 is due to this product or the burnt sugar. My only concern is that I will need to replenish this product in about 3 -4 weeks since I use about a 1/5th of the jar for my original wash and go and some everyday to refresh the curls and use for my knot-outs. I guess good quality hair products are not cheap, so I am willing to invest in my hair quality.

When i tell you this stuff smells so good, know I am telling no lies. I like that this is more of a creamy butter and is easy to apply as it melts into my hair. For my twist and braid out I apply a tad of aloe Vera gel I purchase from Walmart for for a medium to light hold after applying the twisting butter. It has lot of oils in it so I can skip the step of sealing after I apply my leave in.

And I only apply the product twice before re-twisting throughout the week. The smell is just right (and I'm very sensitive to scented prodcts)! It's lightly scented and goes well with other products. I'm sure this jar is going to last a while b/c you don't have to use much all at once. It absorbs very well and doesn't dry out your hair. This is my new staple for sure! Will purchase again!!!

I didn't know what to do with my spongy hair until I tried this product. I always wanted twist outs and couldn't get them defined. Even had a stylist said I won't with my texture. After this twisting butter I am happy to say she was wrong. I love this stuff.

I have 4C hair and this along with the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Milk has given the best twist out in my 26 months of being natural. My hair is moist, soft and has a nice shine. I'm no longer on the hunt for a twisting butter and for that, I am thankful! As long as the formula (new ingredients - butter) doesn't change for the butter or milk, I'm sticking with this combination.

Love it. My twist out was so beautiful! Curls are lightly moisturizers and spiraled wonderfully!

I use this as a moisturizer and then pin-curl my hair. This product provides great shine and volume to hair. I have yet to use it to twist my hair wet or dry. I can say that the product provides great longevity for the hair.

I used this product on blow dried hair and it gave great shine and hair volume. Follow the directions exactly and the results will be great. I put a quarter size and went through my ends carefully then twisted my hair in bantu knots, after an hour, I unraveled the bantu knots and my curls were thick and defined. Since I have fine hair, I appreciated the volume and it also works well with Oyin's Burnt Sugar Pomade. Just note that this is a review on dry blown out hair/not wet.

The ingrediants have now changed, so I will not be repurchasing. My new jar lists the ingrediants as follows: almond milk, water, aloe, btms, almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, pumpkin seed oil, macadamia oil, hemp, honey, green tea, marshmellow root, amla, optiphen, fragrance. The nettle, brazil nut oil, algae, baobab oil, manketti oil and L-cystine are gone and are replaced with marshmellow root, green tea, and hemp. Why did they have to change this stuff. I have changed my review to a two star.

Really good product. It provides some moisture, but not enough on my hair. It provides nice definition so I pair it with a light moisturizer or use it to retwist one of my styles that was twisted with a more moisturizing product, but needs to be refreshed. It has a nice light vanilla fragrance that interacts well with almost anything else and is not very loud. This is my first Camille Rose product, so now I am interested in tryiing some others.

I've used Camille Rose's twisting butter several times to style my twists with and I get excellent results everytime. My twist- outs are always fluffy and frizzy-free. My hair is also well moisturized and smells nice- like sugar cookies. I believe this product has protein in the form of almond milk, as well as, algae. While it has protein in it, I don't have any issues using this product and my hair is protein sensitive.

I love it. I picked it up at the natural hair show and my hair ate it up. Great moisture for days and very good hold. I would definitely sub it in for my Afroveda Curl Define which is my Holy Grail, so that says alot.
