This co-wash only contains gentle, gentle cleansers (like those found in most conditioners) yet it also has silicones. It claims to cleanse the hair while actually depositing leave in. It does leave the hair really soft and doesn't strip at all. I wouldn't recommend this for cleansing.

Type 3b/c, low porosity, coarse: This cleansing conditioner really disappoints me. When it's in my hair it has wonderful slip, it makes my hair feel silky, and it doesn't matte my hair. But it doesn't seem to clean my hair very well. In addition to the feeling that this won't rinse out completely, it makes my ends feel like straw. Every Carol's Daughter product I've used has dried the heck out of my hair, and I wish I could figure out what ingredient(s) is the culprit.

I purchased the mini-kit for $14.99 at ULTA. It was on clearance..

*This review is just for the Cowash*

The co-wash dried my ends out something FIERCE! I recently had my ends trimmed and have no problems with detangling or styling since my ends are fresh and even. However, within moments after washing my ends looked flash-dried, frizzy, and tangled. While the cowash was in my hair it seemed to feel soft and tangle free. As soon as I got from under the water it felt like straw. I proceeded straight the the hair milk as suggested. Wrong...all wrong. Couldnt comb out my hair. WTF?! HAHA! The next time I tried the cowash I followed with Pantene 2 minute moisture which knocks out tangles in seconds but it didnt work. The following time I used it I followed with KCKT and it didnt work. The final time I followed with Shea Moisture Retention Conditioner and it was somewhat better but not really. Greasy, dried out, and matted at the same time - that was the end result of the last time.

    Long review short:

I have tried it 4 times. Each time I have gotten the same flash-dried, frizzy, greasy, unruly results.

I like the scent of the co-wash but thats about it. Skip this cowash.

I love Carol's daughter products, this co-wash makes my hair feel so soft and curls bounce back. It adds shine to hair immediately, this co-wash makes my hair like I don't need a leave in. I love it.

I really like this product. I have 4C hair and find myself looking for nice conditioners to use for "wash and go" styles. This conditioner left my hair soft and with a light scent for my day.

Loved how this made my hair feel - the slip was amazing so I was able to detangle my hair with it; it smells great too. My problems with the product are the price and the bottle - she really needs to rethink these bottles because it's hard enough to squeeze the product out when my hands are dry but when wet..forget it. I won't add this as a staple product because of the cost - I only got 4 washes out of the bottle.

This left my hair feeling soft. Not sure if I'm willing to buy it again but it did its job

I'm sorry.... for 10 dollars less I can get 16oz of As I Am Coconut Co-Wash!

The lemongrass smell is okay. Not my favorite. It cleansed my hair very well. However, I'm not a fan of the way you dispense the product. It's too thick for that small hole. It's kind of a struggle to get out. Also, I have thick hair and I wash twice every time. I have to use too much of it to get the slip and cleaning I want. I can't keep buying a product that mostly gone after one use. It would probably be better for finer or thinner hair so you don't have to use as much. I can't pay $18 for 8.5oz when for 2 dollars less I can get 16oz of As I Am Coconut Co-Wash which works wonderfully!

I'm new to cleansing conditioners, but this is an awesome product!! I liked that it was actually a conditioner, and not just a really moisturizing "shampoo". Very slippery and softening. It's *ACTUALLY* low lathering. My coils are always so springy and shiny afterward. Hair felt clean but soft and I wouldn't need to condition afterward!!!!

I like using this to detangle with a wide tooth comb, and it smells great. It's not the best cleansing conditioner I've ever used, but I really enjoyed using it and I'll be using this every now and then when I feel like changing things up.

My hair felt very moisturized after using this, but I'm not a fan of the fact that it has amodimethicone in it. It's a co-wash. With a silcone in it? That doesn't make sense to me because I will never be able to wash it out if I'm the co-washing type, which I tend to be. Once I finished off with the leave-in and pudding from hair milk, my hair wasn't as soft or moisturized as it can be so I wouldn't want to lock out moisture at the point of cleansing by using a co-wash with a silicone.

This was just OK to me. I felt like I had to use a lot to feel a difference. I know it's a co-wash, but it didn't seem to work well with my hair. On looser textures, I can see this as a great product.
