Description

Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Shampoo is a sulfate-free shampoo that prevents the stripping away of moisture. It helps detangle hair so there are fewer snaps and breaks when washing. Help the repairing and protecting process before you condition or use a deep treatment. Monoi Repairing Shampoo is fast-rinsing and won’t leave a residue.

For thousands of years, Polynesians have used monoi oil for its natural reparative properties. To make monoi, freshly picked tiare flower blossoms are steeped in coconut oil to produce fragrant oil that helps repair hair, improving its condition, softness, and shine. The Monoi Collection was created especially for those concerned with hair breakage.

Goodies that make it work:

  • Monoi oil gently conditions your hair all over
  • Hibiscus extract helps quickly detangle any hair type, but especially delicate, damaged hair
  • Coconut-derived cleansers are gentle enough for even the most fragile, distressed hair

PLUS, this shampoo has NO parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial color

Type 4 A&B with some C hair, fine and low density. I was given a sample of both the shampoo and conditioner, I thought the smell was crazy amazing, so I tried it. This is the first shampoo I have ever used that I was strangely enough able to detangle. And not just that, but have almost no hair on the denman. The shampoo. Yes. Maybe it's because my hair is fine that I was able to do that, but to me, I thought that was pretty awesome! The product smells great, and lingers in my hair for days. It makes my hair soft, shiny and my curls pop. I think this product would be a hit or miss in general. But based off my results, yes, I would definitely recommend it. Oh, and minus a curl for price. As much as I love the duo, it's not enough love to repurchase because there are cheaper products out there that produce the same results.

My holy grail shampoo! I have tried everything for my hair type and this stuff works miracles! Would definitely recommend buying the conditioner, and hair mask with it. All three works wonderful.

This is my staple shampoo! It really cleans my hair without stripping it AT ALL. There is a lather and it smells great. Love it!

I was disappointed in the shampoo. I tried the hair mask as well. I saw no type of decrease in the amount of breakage/shedding. And most of all, the shampoo was stripping. My hair felt straw after I rinsed it out. It doesn't take much at all to get the suds flowing. The pleasant, though.

I have 3C hair and I'm 14 years old. This worked PERFECTLY!! I have VERY dry scalp because I've been using sulfate shampoos but I just bought this shampoo and loved it! No more flaky itchy scalp! I have never seen such results in my scalp. I haven't itched once ever since I used this product. I love it and will definitely buy this again. :D

This shampoo had my hair in heaven! It lathers nicely, has a great smell that lingers, and does not strip your hair. I also used the conditioner and the mask and my hair felt strengthened and had less shedding afterwards.

I tried Carol's Daughter products in the past and was really disappointed. When I read the reviews on here I decided to give it another try! I was happy I did, the product is GREAT! It feels like a conditioner and I did notice less breakage over a period of time! This is def something I will keep in rotation for my shampooing rituals!

This and the conditioner really stopped my hair breakable. I truely like it. The only issue is that it is a bit expensive.

WOW! I think I'm in love...I have tried Giovanni Shampoos, Shea Moisture Shampoos, and everything in between, and this is the ONLY shampoo that has left my hair and scalp squeaky clean without stripping it. I tried the no poo method for a while and my scalp started itching so bad. After I washed with this shampoo, I had immediately relief and my hair was clean and hydrated, my little curls were so springy and happy. ;) This is the only shampoo that I will continue to repurchase.

All time favorite shampoo! Amazing all around - love the smell the thickness etc. Best shampoo I'ved used in years. Actually made my hair stronger and grow faster. It helps keep my color in tact + my hair super healthy. My hair stylist says she has never had a client with such healthy hair that highlights it every 6 weeks like me. My new holy grail - will continue to use as long as I can :)

Out of all the shampoos I tried, this one does the best job cleansing my hair without drying it out. Matter of fact, it actually helps to MOISTURIZE my hair...which is great being it's a shampoo! Its expensive, but totally worth the price...especially because I only shampoo my hair once a week and don't use a ton of it like I do conditioner. Needless to say, my shampoo search is over with.

    4a / 4b hair. I've been natural for about...4+ years.

I wanted to try this shampoo out because it is sulfate-free. I find that the sulfate-free shampoos work out better for me because I have pretty dry hair. I now live in a humid climate, but sulfate-free really makes a difference. I solely used Loreal's sulfate-free for about 2+ years (since it was released), but have decided to branch off since my hair has been frizzy after washing.

When I first got this and smelled it out of the bottle, it smelled like medicine to me. Baby medicine. Weird, I know. But when I washed my hair and it dried, I really liked it! I had friends smell it as well, and it got various degrees of approval.

The shampoo also detangles. I was really excited about this, because previously, my detangler came with my old conditioner, which I obviously used after I shampooed. I think I was expecting a lot out of this shampoo, miracles maybe, because I was excited! Mmy hair quickly dreads if I don't comb out the curl after two days. I used quite a bit shampoo to lather up. Though it did help detangle, it was still difficult to comb through my hair and I lost a good amount of hair doing so. I always lose hair when I am combing it out and this shampoo didn't make a difference with that. On the other hand, it was nice to have a shampoo detangler because it was easier to apply conditioner from roots to ends afterwards.

When I washed off the shampoo, my hair had this interesting feel to it. It seemed stronger, but it was sort of...how do you say...maybe plastic-y? It didn't feel like my hair. I didn't particularly like it, but after it dried off, that feel was gone.

I was pleased with the results after the shampoo. My hair fell in a nice place and felt soft. The curls were nicely intact. I remained detangled for two to three days after the washing, even with the curls intact! I've used this product twice and I think I will continue to use it!

I have 3c 4a hair. I loved this stuff. my hair would shed like crazy or breaking off idk what it was doing but I would detangle my hair and then when I went to style tons of hair would still come out on my hands. after two uses of this and my hair comes out less then it did before. this product saved my hair. smells great, and make my hair feel soft. I love it.

This is pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of Carol's Daughter before, this changes it for me. Smells good. Conditions well. Leaves hair soft and healthy feeling.

It's hard to get excited about shampoos, but this one is exciting! First of all, the scent is TO DIE FOR! I want to poor this out all over my tile floors so my house will smell this good. And, bonus, it works great on the hair, too! Cleans without stripping.

Me- Type 4A. Natural for 3 years, responsibly natural for 1 year. -this review is for the shampoo and repairing mask. :)
Now im one of those people that "..Don't believe the hype!" lol but i am impressed. I won a small sample size of the shampoo and the repairing mask. I was able to get 3 uses out of it even though i could really have used more of the repairing mask. Before I used this product my hair frizzed up if you looked at it. It always had a dull shine or no shine at all. I thought that my hair had to be the length of naptural85 or kimmay in order to get a shine and just decided to deal with it. When I used the shampoo and rinse my hair it didnt feel like i needed to quickly relather or condition my hair in some way.Its like that uncomfortable feeling you get when your hands are dry or ashy and you just need lotion asap! Well the shampoo left my hair feeling conditioned and that was the first for me. I could of just shampooed it and be done with it. The same happened with the raparing mask. I left it in for about 10 minutes with about 5 minutes under those heat covers you attach to a blowdryer to get the effects of a hooded hair dryer. I rinsed it out and my hair was shiny, shiny shiny! I had recently hot combed my hair and the ends were rough and breaking off. My curls werent as defined and limp. After the shampoo and repairing mask my hair got shiny, bouncy, and the majority of my ends were healthy. This stuffed saved my hair. I got the membership card and bought some more! My hair looked like blah before hand, after this stuff my hair looks like naptural85's and kimmay's hair in the videos. Finally I found something. I recommend this product for sure. I have tight 4a pen spring coils, nothing special. Oh and to add, i thought my hair being frizzy was its natural state. after this stuff the frizz has lessen. Over time i will be able to rock my curls for longer than 5 minutes before the frizz attack lol! I gave it 4 stars because of the price. If the price was lower id give it 5 stars.

I really liked how this shampoo worked with my hair. Usually when I shampoo, I am not able to run my fingers through my hair as well, but this one did help. I also enjoyed the smell; it wasn't too strong for me. Although I'm not too big on whether or not a shampoo has sulfates or is sulfate-free, I really liked the fact that this sulfate-free shampoo worked wonders and left my hair feeling soft.
