I did exactly what it was supposed to do..... CLARIFY!!! I don't like the smell but clarifying shampoos don't always have pleasant smells. Also, when it comes to clarifying shampoos I think people should understand that it is meant to basically strip everything away and start you over. They are not moisturizing shampoos and should not be used too regularly. I only use them once per month IF there is too much build-up for my usual monthly low-poo. Stripping is basically what they do. If you don't get a lot of build-up on your scalp or hair then you probably don't need a clarifying shampoo. A low-poo or regular shampoo would suffice.

I added a couple of teaspoons of coconut oil to this shampoo and my hair didn't feel so stripped and straw-like when I was done.

This product absolutely cleans all product build up from your hair and scalp. I only use this about every other month because it really strips the hair. My hair is dry, hard, and brittle after using this so a good conditioner is necessary. This shampoo gets out all the gels, puddings, pomades, and soufflés we use in our hair!

it does do the job. However, if you have extremely dry hair. DO NOT use it. Unless you have product buildup or lots of oil, then use it. My hair felt a bit stripped but overall its pretty good

People always go in on the CD line. I found this shampoo stimulating and deep cleansing. Not drying at all and I have naturally dry hair.

Love this. it smells like heaven and my hair feels really moisturized and clean afterwards without feeling stripped. The only downfall is that I go through a bottle rather quickly.

what a lot of people do not understand is that this shampoo is to detox your hair ! it reads "clarifying". it does make your hair feel stripped which is normal but if you use conditioner right after it your hair is fine ! this shampoo is good for people that do wash & goes & have gel caked up in there hair! it's wonderful on my thin 3c hair !!!

Sooo drying!! Don't use it if your hair is naturally dry. It might be good for people with oily hair though.

Recently my hair suddenly stopped cooperating with the product I had been using (yet again) so I was looking for something new. My unusually fine and not the least bit dry hair seems to respond really well to sulfate free shampoos. And being so fine, a clarifying shampoo sounded like a good idea. When I happened to see it in a Sephora store, I bought it and used it the next morning. After weeks of refusing to cooperate, one use with this shampoo restored my curls to their former glory. i highly recommend it for anyone with my hair type. And it smells fabulous!

I have natural thick hair and when i use this product my hair feels HORRIBLE! With soap lathered on my hair feels dry, rinsing it off my hair felt dry, and like hay. Luckily i have an amazing moisturizer that fixed the problem. Ultimitly i would not recommend this to ANYONE, I don't even see my self finishing the bottle. This is my first time purchasing a Carols Daughters product and its leaving me timid to try another.

My hair felt as though it had been stripped. This dried my hair clean out. Never again.

A little goes a long way. If u have an itchy scalp I highly recommend this shampoo. If you're not a fan of peppermint and tingly sensations on the scalp then you will not like it. It made my hair feel a little stripped but I don't mind that much because thats is what condtioners are for.

I highly recommend to use it with the mint conditioner provided by Carols Daughter! This product really cleansed my hair and it gives it that minty smell! After using the shampoo and conditioner, it was very easy to straighten my hair! Overall, this is a great product!

I received the shampoo & conditioner as a sample. I loved the way both smelled. The shampoo really cleaned my hair such that I thought it was stripped. I worked the conditioner in and my hair softened immediately. Because I love the smell, I will purchase this product.

Nice cleanser. Smells good and cleans well, but not my first choice for a shampoo.

pretty solid shampoo. i used a sample packet of it. it was enough to clean my hair and scalp.

it's just one of those shampoos that is better used on really dirty hair.

    smells cool and tingles!

    i like it

This product was a Promotion give away that I won my 1st time on the site. I had heard of most of the popular brands, and was not a stranger to the brand, but had never purchased or used any of the products during my own natural transition-only products that friends and family suggested. I like the shampoo and conditioner, but it's a VERY Good idea to "PRE-POO" before using any clarifying shampoo on natural hair, and I like using both the same Shampoo and conditioner. I usually co-wash at least 2-3 times a week, unless I have a twist style or something that I paid for at the salon... Good products both the shampoo & conditioner I like the smell and tingle. Not for everyone or for every hair texture. I only do an actual washing once every 4 weeks, and just do the co-wash, but not with this conditioner..

Too strong a poo for my curls. Even my hands were dry after working this into my scalp.

Great shampoo, cleanses well and the mint gives you a tingling sensation. The only thing it did leave my hair a bit tangled, but the conditioner smoothed and moisturized my hair. Great stuff!
