I have thick 3c hair, and i love this product. It has quality ingredients and does NOT dry my hair out.You get alot of product for your money and it lasts.I can use this alone, smoothed through sections of wet or damp hair. When it dries, my curls are soft, shiny, and healthy.I hope Curl Junkie never stops making this gel <3

I thought this gel was terrible. I bought a sample pack and tried it out one morning. I have 3b hair, and it left my hair a frizzy mess. It had an odd texture going in my hair in the first place, very clumpy and sticky. By the end of the day, it was as if I had no product in my hair at all. I also work in a very dry environment, so I need some serious moisture on a daily basis. This did not work for me.

I am impressed with this gel. Used it over CJ Honey Butta and it leave me with the most gorgeous spiral curls. Was able to use it on dry hair, to enchance the curls that needed a boost. Smells like lemongrass and is very refreshing. At first I was concerned with the gylcerin content, but that was stomped out when I saw the results. NO FRIZZ! I am happy!! New part of my HG!!!!! (3B)

at marsha's suggestion, i revisted this gel again. tried it two years ago and it did not work for my hair. well, now my hair LOVES this gel!! i do not use any leave in nor any other styler, use it by itself. i have defined, bouncy, shiny curls. i will have to use something else in winter with low dew points, but for the past two months my hair has been very happy. even with dew points reaching 70!! i don't know if this made a difference, but i am now deep conditioning with cj deep fix, another cj product my hair loves. other days, i use different cowashes, rinse outs, and the aloe fix gel.

I always use Curl Junkie BeautiCurls Leave-in Hair Conditioner before applying anything on top and as soon as I put this product in my hair, I STOPPED! It had the strangest texture, it was as if it stripped all the softness from using the conditioner out of my hair. Will not use. Waste of $. Will give away to another curly-girl to try.

This gives me shiney, bouncy curls....love it! I don't use in the Winter because of all that glycerin but it's a great gel!

While I like this gel, I feel like I can only give it 3 curls because it's so bratty and selfish. Why, you ask? It only works alone for me! If I mix it with any other product it becomes gunky or greasy. Usually this would not be a problem, but b/c of the high glycerin content I can't use this gel in high humidity or my hair turns into a bird's nest, and I wondered if I could use a glycerin-free leave-in to attempt to dilute it some. But it just doesn't work with other products. However, alone in the right climate, it's awesome! I get shiny, elongated curls; there is a little frizz in my finer areas but it's nothing to cry about.

This works really well with the Coffee-Coco Creme. I have fine, extremely frizzy but thin curly blonde hair. I use about a nickel-size amount of Coco Creme then add about a nickel-size amount of gel. I let my hair air-dry then when it is almost dry I add a little more gel and my hair looks frizz-free. Of course my hair is really curly when the frizz is gone but I am hoping when the humidity goes down it will pull some of it out and make my hair more wavy. I am very happy with the Curl Junkie line. I have used a lot of different products and these work the best for my hair. It really helps with the dryness. I don't know why humidity makes my hair so dry.

Wonderful gel that moisturizes while providing a light to medium hold. I was able to use it without a LI with excellent results.

I admit I tried this product once, over the Smoothing Gellie, but the results were so bad that I don't plan on trying it again. It weighed down my curls down the shaft, but managed to also dry out the ends, so the ends are sticking out all over the place. I've also got some random ringlety curls so it looks like I didn't finish styling my hair. On top of that, my hair feels product-y and I could not scrunch it out. Certainly not worth the hefty price when I can get this exact look with the $3 drugstore gel!

This does not work for my fine hair. There is not enough hold and it does not play nice with BRHG. I tried to mix it with the BRHG and it got all sticky and clumpy. Since I need the extra hold that BRHG offers, I can't use this gel. Only bought a sample so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the full size.

The first time I tried this gel over my leave in and I absolutely hated it. It left white clumps and my hair felt producty. I then put it in the closet to put up for sale or swap. A few days later, on a whim, I decided to try it on naked hair with no leave in. I'm so glad I did. It made a world of difference.
It defined and clumped my 3bc textured hair (even the unruly parts). I have to add that it did not glide on the hair and has a strange texture during application which I do not like but the results are worth it. I had nicely defined soft, shiny, moisturized curls (even though my hair is mostly wavy) that lasted all day. This is definitely a keeper!

My hair is kinky, corkscrew curls and it gave me a little hold to no hold. I will not use it or purchase it again.

Best gel i've ever used. I apply a generous amount(like the directions say) to small sections of wet hair and smooth through. Im left with great definition and some elongation. Best of all i can use this product alone and get great results. Does not dry my hair out(as it is made with aloe and other quality oils),but i do use oil to add shine to my hair.Im an aloe fix junkie for life!

Am CJ fan but this product did not do it for me. It smells ok and is easily applied but the effect was not noticeable.

I appreciate the hold of this product, did a really good job with my wash & go, and I also use it to slick back my buns and ponytails. It can seem slightly "producty"/dense, though, and it doesn't encourage moisture, so I wouldn't use it if you no-poo or don't co-wash regularly.

I am not entirely attached to this product or the brand in general. I did use this to smooth down my edges when I styled my hair in a puff. It held my hair down in the back, but in the front and on my side edges, it was not enough hold for my hair. Good point: my hair was not made hard. However, it did seem drying, which is strange.

I want to give this product a higher rating, because on good days, it's awesome; bouncy, defined ringlets that are voluminous and soft to the touch. Dries with no crunch at all and works on dry hair as a frizz smoother. BUT, on low-humidity days, this gel makes my hair frizzy and dry.
In short, this gel is best suited for humid summer weather, but is not a year-round product for me.

Good finishing product. Light and best used when your hair is damp not completely dry.

I like this stuff. It's very thick and hydrating. Nice light smell. I didn't achieve maximum wavy from my 2A hair with this product, but frizz-factor was low and the finish was silky.

Impressive volume. Nice curl encouragement. Hold failed later in the day (and curls fell). More rat's nesty frizz than I prefer (which accelerated thru the day). Nice citrus fragrance that didn't linger (would be too much near the face if it did).

I love this product. I scrunched it in after using the CJ Assurance Leave-in. After plopping, I scrunched in a small amount of gel, clipped and diffused. I had amazing curls, no frizz and lots of volume. It has a nice clean scent, but it is not overpowering. I will definitely repurchase - highly recommend!
