This is an awesome gel! It makes my hair shiny, soft, and less frizzy, and it has a nice natural hold. It also seems to be working well in different weather conditions, which is great.

This is great for a lighter gel. I can't wear my hear to the beach on a windy day using this and I do notice that it give more volume and spirals versus thick clumpy ringlets that some gels give. It has a really nice fragrance and a really nice "non-producty" feeling in my hair.

I have 3B hair and this leaves my hair perfectly frizz-free. I never leave reviews, but I needed to for this product because it's what I've always wanted. I definitely prefer this over Curls in a Bottle.

i loved the first version in the jar, could not make the pump bottle version work for my hair, at all. until recently. i have been using it quite successfully on dry hair! does not frizz, does not flake, gives me lots of curls and umph! my hair already has leave in and a sealant, then air dried. on the days when my hair is just falling flat, i scrunch pp into my already dry hair, and wow! this might just be my winter HG!

I have high porosity(3c) and hair this product does not work for me at all. I've tried many different leave-ins underneath, nothing works. My hair shrinks and gets poufy :( Do not recommend if your hair is porous.

*if you put the product on the back of your hand the skin will become uncomfortably dry and tight, people w/dry hair, be careful...

I picked this up this past summer, along with several other glycerin-free options, and found the results from this one to be pretty blah. If I used just a bit too much, my hair looked stringy and overladen with product. Using less didn't keep the frizz away. This winter, I brought it out again, and it turns out that the harder hold which weighed me down during the summer is perfect for preserving my curl formation despite the winter winds and hat-wearing which leave my hair a flat, lanky mess with lighter-weight gels. So, while I'll probably skip this gel in the summers, I'll definitely keep buying it to use in winter! I subtracted one star because a) it's not quite as great for me in winter as my other favorite, Spiral Solutions Firm Holding Styling Gel, and b) it's sort of annoying to buy a product that only works well for me for a few months.

OMG! I love this gel. At first it was hating it because it wasn't doing anything for me but then I realized it was because i was mixing it with the wrong products for my hair (products with glycerine). I now use curl junkie curl rehab as a leave in and then apply patter pusha. I even get second day hair from it! The only thing is that I have to use a lot of it, which is not necessarily a bad thing but i'm going to run out quickly. I experienced a teeny little bit of flaking in places where it dried as a little glob but with just some coconut oil it went away. It dries crunchy but with some scrunching it goes away.
Now I'm going to try curls in a bottle as a finisher and jamaican black castor oil to seal my ends because coconut oil makes my hair crispy. Hopefully this will give it just the right finishing touch and make my curls JUST BAM!

I love this gel. After trying various gels that end in epic fails. I have found HG product. It gives my hair great hold with zero crunchiness. Will definitely include Pattern Pusha in my hair arsenal.

I did not like this gel at all, after it dried my hair was crunchy. The worse part was that it made my hair super flaky

This is the best of both worlds - this is a lightweight gel that smells great too. This helped me perfect my wash and go. I think the kicker here is the pump, which allows me to make sure I'm not going overboard during application. This is on the HG list.

Pattern Pusha is by far the worst gel i have ever used. I had flakes for days and i was extremely hard to wash out of my hair.

I've used quite a few gels -which my hair HATED, and was convinced my hair preferred creams only (Jane Carter's or SheaMoistures), but THIS stuff far surpassed them all!! I get outstanding definition, hardly any frizz (including the super frizzy section on top of my head), and it refreshes very well with just the shower steam after pineappling all night. This means I can get more days out of my wash and go, and as big as this bottle is, means I won't be going through it in 4 weeks. The first time I used it I was a bit heavy-handed and my hair got super crunchy and a little too straight, but now I've found the right amount to apply (about a dime size). I also cut it with a couple of drops of water so it spreads well through my hair.

My routine: shampoo with Jane Carter shampoo, condition with Curl Junkie Curl Assurance and leave it in (otherwise my hair dries out fast), apply Curl Junkie Leave-in and add avocado oil, apply Pattern Pusha, and finish off with Curls in a Bottle. Viola fabulous, compliment gathering curls!

This is the best gel I have ever used on my 2C/3A curls! It has a nice consistency and smells divine. After I use this, I have shiny, full, bouncy curls. It sometimes makes my hair a bit crunchy, but I can easily take care of that by "scrunching out the crunch" or blotting a bit of water into my hair. I will be sure to keep this as a part of my hair care routine.

Second purchase of this gel. I love it! Best for my 3B hair. Keeps frizz at bay and smells delicious! HG, so you know I had to buy another... a curl has to have back ups!

The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because I haven't tried many gels (only Eco styler which would be great for except my hair HATES glycerin). After I used this I had way less frizz and great curl definition. I had a lot of crunch, which I don't mind at all because I don't let anyone touch my hair so that crunch doesn't matter. This is a great product and the ingredients seem pretty good too, but, I must say the best part about this gel is the scent. OH MY GOSH it smells like heaven. It's this delicious fruity smell and it stays in my hair all day. If you don't like strong scents that last then reconsider buying this gel. And I am very sensitive to smell and the way products smell on my hair, probably because I'm 17 and other teenagers don't mind loudly stating what your hair smells like.
Anyway, this gel gets an A+ on hold and definition and an A++ on smell.

Had my doubts at first, then I looked at the ingredients. I have used the product five times, and every time, I received compliments about my hair. It gives my highly, porous hair definition and shine that lasts until the next cowash or shampoo. A little bit does go a long way, so if you're heavy handed, you will need to "scrunch out the crunch" with water or a little oil. Pattern Pusha is now my favorite out of all the Curl Junkie products!

Had my doubts, but after looking at the ingredients, decided to give it a try. Gave my highly, porous hair wonderful definition and shine the first time and everytime I've used it. Received compliments each time as well.

A little does go a long way, so if you're heavy-handed with products, just add a bit of water or a little oil to your hair to scrunch out the crunch.

Out of all the Curl Junkie products, this is now my favorite!

Just when I think I could not love CJ products more, out comes Pattern Pusha gel.... and my curls just pop. It is a definite keeper in my list of HG products. My ringlets are well formed, soft and frizz free (that is something living in Memphis in August).
I used it on clean hair (Daily Fix cleanser [another fav!!]), followed by a few minutes of Deep Fix (amazing product for moisture). A quick squish of my microfiber towel to remove the excess water from rinsing. A good size dallop of CCCC well distributed in hair (more moisture) and then a light scrunching of Pattern Pusha and air dry! Voila...... amazing ringlets. I even woke with the same fantastic curls! INCREDIBLE!!
Awesome product and I simple LOVE the pump dispenser!!

Excellent gel. Feels very natural in hair and gives a medium hold. Rinses clean every time with no build up or drying effects. Gives me lots of shine, moisture and bouncy curls. No frizz at all. Really like this gel, it is my favorite in the CJ line. Sometimes use Curl Queen(has protein) but I like that this has no protein or glycerin...can use it year round. Great natural product.

This is the best gel I have tried so far! For me it controls frizz, gives defintion, and adds moisture. I do not know if using it with other cj products makes a difference but I use it with the smoothing lotion and leave in. It is amazing for twist outs so if you feel it is not working for wngs try it for a to. The price is steep but I will def. reup during the next sale.

This is just not for me. Since banning heat and embracing my curls, I've found that my hair is not as hard to handle as I thought. It was just a matter of understanding why it likes to frizz, and that light/medium hold is good, b/c it Wants to curl. That being said, I have never used a product that has given such a firm and tight hold. It was crunchy, stringy, would not dry (meaning beyond the requisite 9hrs it usually takes), and straightened some of my ends. I have never experienced this in a gel. All I can say is that I may have put too much--but it says use a generous amount--on my sections. I used the same amount as I do with CIAB! It just didn't work for my curls. However, the big bottle (which I thought was a plus) means I will have lots more chances to try again--in a long long while.

I have had great success with most of the Curl Junkie products I have tried and Pattern Pusha is no exception. I was looking for a styling product without glycerin or protein for the winter. I live in a very cold and dry climate and have noticed that products with glycerin leave my hair feeling dry and looking frizzy by the end of the day. Pattern Pusha to the rescue! It nicely defines and holds my curls all day. I do have to use a lot and be careful to distribute it evenly. It dries a tad crunchy but that goes away. This is the only product out there that meets my needs and actually works.

I was so excited for this that I sold my bottle of CIAB to justify buying another styler. Unfortunately it didn't work as well as I'd hoped. It did hold and define the curl but my hair seemed messier and much more frizz prone with it, and my hair rarely frizzes in winter. Individual hairs on the canopy were frizzing up and bending every which way. Also *and this is just personal to me* I found the cucumber melon scent pleasant in the jar, but strong in my hair. So strong that it took two co-washes with Daily Fix to get it out. It was something I would have learned to deal with if I loved everything else about it. Maybe in a different climate I would have had better luck--I live in the Denver area which is cold and dry right now. I ended up selling it and buying another bottle of CIAB. Lesson learned.

I love Curl Junkie and am so glad they came out with this gel. It definitely has hold to it and kept the frizz at bay. I usually use LALSG, but this new CJ gel may very well take its place. It worked nicely without feeling sticky or drying and gave me good clumps that didn't look stringy. My curls held well all night while I was out with my girlfriends - even in the cold Minneapolis wind. It did dry crunchy, but it was easy to scrunch out and I was left with soft, shiny, bouncy hair that wasn't weighed down at all. I used this over KCKT and CCCC Lite and thought they worked great together.
