My hair is 4b/4a and I love the twist whip. I have been using this is a twisting cream for protective styles for well over a year. I am a product junkie so I tend to forget that I have this in my stash, but everytime I use it my twist are perfect. I use the satin root as a leave in, seal w/an oil, add the twist whip and then seal my ends w/a butter (winter time routine). My hair is moisturized for a least a week w/o having to remoisturize. I usally keep my twist in for about 2-3 weeks and when I take them down they are well defined and moisturized. I only have flakes when I use too much of the twist whip w/o off setting it w/the satin roots or a hair butter. But mostly my twist out are flake free.

I give this product zero (0) stars but gave it a star because I had no choice...the system wouldn't accept my review until I selected a rating.

First I want to say that I do use the coil jam and it works well upon initial use but after a few days it does leave flakes. I wish that could change because no matter how much I apply after a few days I end up having flakes all over my clothes. The twist whip is terrible. Upon applying the product your hair feels really soft and you have great expectations that the next day your hair will be fabulous. However when you wake up and untwist your hair you will find that your hair is covered in FLAKES. I am so disappointed in this product as I really will have to throw away my 2 unused bottles. Also the stock for the coil jam is NEVER available. Why is this? Dark and Lovely is never out of creamy crack! After this experience I am heavily considering going back to the slick side. I STRONGLY urge you NOT TO BUY the TWIST WHIP.

Well, let me start off by saying I really believe in the integrity of this company. I think I just got a bad batch. I usually do research on products before I buy, including watching reviews to see how the consistency of the product should be. This is supposed to be a "thick cream". What I received was more like water in jar. SMH. Curlmart did replace this item with something else that I have fallen in love with so I can't complain.

But, as my hair doesn't even respond well to watery moisturizers I haven't used this on my hair. But, beware because if your product is watery then you have a bad batch. Ohh it smells nice so 1 star for that.

I liked this! The consistency was much more watery than I expected, but I feel like it helps me use less. I used it on wet hair and wasn't nearly as impressed as I was when I used it on my dry hair. Used on my dry hair the hold was great and so was the shine and it would've lasted all day if it hadn't rained. Definitely recommended.

This is my HG for twist outs. I thought the castor oil would be too heavy for my hair but not at all. This gives me soft fluffy, well moisturized hair with a soft hold. This has worked for me over many leave-ins without any flaking or white gunk. My hair stays moisturized for days. I always come back to this product because of the consistent results.

For my hair this works great as a detangler and for curl definition. However, the next day my hair is very dry.

Works well and really moisturizes. I did not need a leave in underneath it because its super thick. One of the best scents out there. A rich vanilla. The smell goes well with Darcy Botanical Sweet cocoa smoothing creme. I use the twist whip after I have deep conditioned my hair on naked hair. Later in the week I retwist and set overnight with Darcy botanical sweet cocoa cream. My hair is 4 a and fine

    Type 4a

I ended up with a nice, flowing twistout with a light hold. I had a bit of an issue with feeling the product on my hair, but I think I'll just play around with how much I use per section.

This product went on really smooth and moisturizing. My hair felt amazing during this process. My hair dried super soft and fluffy. My hair frizzed up somewhat while untwisting my twists. I still really like the product! I will just try a light gel over it to see if that helps. The smell is also delish! smells like vanilla cake frosting. I only used this once and I'm ready to put it on the HG list. I'm gonna give it a few more tries though.

This gives me curl definition as well as curl elongation for twistouts. It also makes my hair very soft and moisturized and has a good hold. my only complaint is that my hair feels pretty dry after a two day twist out but if I have to reapply this twist whip it doesn't weigh my hair down or feel greasy. Its pretty thick so a little goes a long way. Good product!

3c/4a type hair. I love this stuff. This was my first time trying this product and it left my hair soft and moisturized. I didn't have to use a lot. I have used it for twist, twist-outs, and bantu-knot-outs. Would most defintiely recommend this to others that want a styler that can not only define and hold curls, but also moisturize.

Tried this product with a twist out and mini twists and both turned out beautifully! While the product is very thick and concentrated, my twist out was light and fluffy while retaining definition for several days. And my mini twists were soft and shiny. Hair felt super moisturized without being weighed down. Loving it.

LOVE IT! Love that it leaves a soft finish, but with enough hold! I use a little of the Coil Jam with it on my 4a hair for extra hold though! Great product and love the texture and smell!
