This curling jelly is my holy grail product for my fine, 3c hair. I use it for every hair style imaginable for great hold and curl definition (braid outs, high ponytails, wash-n-go's). It is even great on edges to get a sleek ponytail. I love the consistency. There is a little crunch, but I need the hold. I also make sure I add a moisturizer under it, like a leave-in or creamy styler. I am on my 4th bottle, and I don't know what I would if she stopped making this. I love it.

This jelly gives my 3c curls a lot of definition and hold. I use this over argan oil and darcy's peach kernel moisturizing cream. I love this product, however it can make the hair crunchy so don't use too much. Darcy's Botanicals works great with my hair. If you haven't, try their pumpkin seed moisturizing conditioner. I'm natural, my mom uses relaxers, and my sister is irish with 2a curls, and these products work great for the three of us.

(dense, MBL, fine, low porosity) This is a nice natural gel that I like and have been able to use any time of year. It smells good and the smell isn't heavy at all or lingering. I like to make sure my hair is very moisturized when using this otherwise it leaves my hair crunchy and hard (hence one less star). My favorite way to use this is when I want a stretched wash and go look, on soaking wet hair I use a leave in, followed by a moisturizer, and then I top with this and a light oil (like jojoba or almond). I then do med/large twists then stretch and pin them down clockwise & counter clockwise. The result are alway super defined with this gel (no matter what combination of other products I'm using) and since my hair was soaking wet my curl pattern dominates instead of the twist.

I really like this stuff! It has good hold and it smells really good like fruit punch. It's not sticky also.

Just tried this for the first time today. I like the soft hold this provides and a teeny tiny bit goes a long way. I only sampled this in the front of my hair so I think I'll be purchasing it soon to see how it holds my entire head.

I really love this product because you do not have to use a lot of it to get the results that you want. When I use it with another product that was suggested the curls are really soft, but maintain their hold and my hair is wonderfully curly. I really like the smell too, because it smells like lemons and oranges combined. I would recommend this product for any one that wants a good styling gel that will not weigh the hair down. I just wish you had it in a larger size. I have a lot of hair (very thick) and need more of this product than someone the has less hair.

Its consistency is similar to the KCCC. It also has a lovely citrus scent. I used a nickel sized amount of this jelly on sectioned wet hair on top of my leave in. I raked it in then scrunched lightly and diffused. My curls were defined, shiny with some hold. I will agree with previous reviewers regarding the fact that it is hard to determined the right amount for your hair: too little product less hold/ too much product a lot of hold. Overall, I like this product a lot. It smells wonderful, makes my curls shiny, moisturized and defined. It also plays well with other products.

I like the jelly it smells really sweet. It reminds me of kinky curly's hair gel. Its very watery and you don't need a ton of it. I just dip my fingers in and rack through my hair a few times. It has, I think a medium hold. It did not leave flakes and I used it with the vanilla leave in by darcy botanicals.

Although I won't be re-purchasing this product, I have (mostly) good things to say about it.

Pros: Quality, natural ingredients; pleasant fragrance, was able to get 4-day hair without having to refresh, slippery texture (which i like in my gels), and reasonably priced.

Cons: THE CRUNCH! My hair had excellent hold but it was crunchier than a bag of Cheetos! :-D I tried using the vanilla delight leave-in under this gel and my hair was crunchy. I tried using the Madagascar Styling Cream, and I still had crunchy hair. I tried using this with no product underneath &, you guessed it, still had crunchy hair. I tried using less gel and then I ended up with frizzy hair.

I found that the best way for me to use this product was to use a styling cream, then divide my hair in 2 seconds and use about a quarter size amount of gel on each section. This left me with a firm hold on day one, and a softer hold on day 2.

Although this is a good product, I won't repurchase, but I would still recommend it to others.

I really hope she doesn't stop making this. This is by far the best gel i have ever used on my hair.

The smell is wonderful but it feels sticky! It doesn't make my curls POP like I would like it to, but it's nice to use for slicking your edges. It may work better for other curlies, I think it's worth a try.

This gel gives great definition, and smells incredible. I wish it was in a bottle instead of a jar because it's runny. Works best if you only use a small amount & only with other darcy products- tried with over shea moisture and it made my hair look dull. I will be repurchasing - my hair loves darcy's and I think the whole line is my staple.

Very hard to determine right amount to use. Defined my curls very well. Watery serum consistency. Light Citrus smell.

This smelled horrible. I bought it mainly for the smell as well as the fact that it is natural.
I bought it because of the reviews posted saying how great it
Smelled on other websites. Wow it smelled really bad.
Due to the smell I could not use this at all

I also bought KCCC and loved that smell so that and MISS Jessie’s
Quick Curls are my favorites so far.

I really liked the curl formation I get with this, layered over a leave-in. The scent is light and citrusy. Agree, it can be hard to determine how much to use. But it's natural and non-sticky.

This product left my hair feeling stringy, dry, and frizzy. I personally did not like the strong smell. I used Shea Mosisture deep treatment masque before I applied this jelly, which may have impacted the feel of my hair. Overall I was very disappointed in this product, and will not purchase again. I wonder if the other Darcy’s products have such an off-putting smell as well. I will stick with KCCC.

Day 1: I applied the curling jelly to soaking wet hair over the Darcy's daily vanilla leave-in. I had to use more jelly than recommended in certain areas of my hair. I also applied a small amount of the curly moisturizing pudding throughout my hair and allowed my hair to air dry. As I write this review, I'm on Day 2 hair and it looks great. I sprayed my hair this morning with the Darcy's Botanicals leave-in conditioning spritz, jumped in the shower, and my "bed head" sprung to life. I applied a small amount of the Madagascar vanilla pudding. I give the curling jelly 4 curls because I love the way my Day 2 hair looks and I did not have to apply more product. However, I do not like the smell of the jelly or the Madagascar vanilla pudding and I’m concerned about the label recommendation that says, “use within 8 to 12 months.” Only in the areas where I used more product I did get a little crunchiness but I’m ok with that, the rest of my hair is soft and the curls are really defined.

I give this product only 3 curls because it's really hard to figure out how much to use! It's a little runny and thin so I find myself using a lot and spilling some in the bathtub. I think I much prefer products that come in pumps or squeeze bottles.

Got great curl formation with this. Tricky to determine the right amount to use, however. Too much, and crunch ensues. Too little, and not enough hold.

absolutely no hold on my type of hair.

i have fine/soft, REALLY COILY --> COTTONY hair and i need something with a little more oomph.

It was quite watery, more than KC Curling Custard.

This product if very light compared to what i normally use (Afro Veda Pur Whipped Gelly), so it defines my coils sure, but that has to do with TECHNIQUE (raking) not product. I could rake normal conditioner through my hair and my curls would pop....they just won't stay that way. Same with this product.

So far, this is the only DB product that agrees with my hair. I use a leave-in underneath as its not very moisturising but despite that I found this gel very light, smells lovely (fruity scent) and it distributed easily throughout my hair.
And a little goes a long way which makes for a long-lasting product.
