My hair loves all the bad stuff (mineral oil, silicones, etc). I have 3c hair that stays dry. I have trouble getting my hair to soften. And believe I have tried many products. But so far I have a few staples and this is one of at the top that helps keep moisture in my hair. When I used to use the Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie on damp hair, after washing, my hair would feel super dry after it dried. But when I use the smoothie - even another one of my moisturizers and/or leave in conditioners - and used this buttercream after, it seems to work well as a sealant. My hair stays moisturized for days! Vanessa (my hair) tells me she loves using this regimen.

Okay. The real deal about this product for 4b/4c ladies. I use this when I put my hair up in a puff ponytail. When wet, I apply in the front and back and brush my hair repeatedly. I would however use something moisturizing UNDER this product. I personally like something like Jane Carter Nourish and Shine, then I put this on. Absolutely love the is very addicting.

A little goes a long way. It is great for pressed hair and curly hair. It makes my hairstyles last long and is great for styling with moisture.

Not only does this product dry my hair out completely, its first 5 ingredients are: Water, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance! You can get those ingredients very cheaply in pretty much any store-bought grease or "moisturizer". I went natural in 2009 and at the time Miss Jessie was one of the only and most popular natural hair lines. Despite the high price, I went to order a sample 2oz bottle of the entire collection to see what the hype was about. I was extremely disappointed in the products, and tad upset that Miss Jessie caters to natural hair yet has some of highest prices in the game with the cheapest ingredients. Most people complain about the strong scents of the products, however I loved the smells of the products. That was the ONLY positive about the products for me. All of the products pretty much share the same ingredients with differing scents, and all of them dried my hair yet somehow managed to cause a lot of build-up residue (ew).

I definitely would not recommend this or any Miss Jessie product to anyone, no matter what hair type you are.

When I BC in 2011 this was the first product I purchased to nuture my curls and was sadly disappointed with this product among others that they manufacture. However I was optimistic and purchased other products from Miss Jessie's thinking that I may have possible bought items that did not aggree with my hair and needed to experiement with their line until I found one that suited me best. So here's my review. ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS SUCK! they are severely over frangranted and not all nature (I think their products cater more to a mixed mane consumer). Futher the majority of their product are very heavy and only yes only made my hair smell good. I thought hmm maybe I should visit their salon in the city to have them treat my curls hands on with their product and was blown away that I'd have to pay $75 to book an appt to have a consultation then pay roughly $200 to treat my hair in which is basically a texturizer to sum it up. This was a real learning experience that resulted to me never ever buying from Miss Jessie's again period. (They shouldn't even get the one star I gave them)

I got this product in one of those mail delivery cosmetics sample subscriptions so I didn't have to pay the hefty price tag for it. My eye balls almost fell out of my head when I saw how much it costs regularly! Overall I actually really like the product but the price is crazy given the ingredients which is why I gave it three stars. The scent is a bit sweet for me, but not too bad. I guess its supposed to be for kids but I just used it myself. I used it as a 2nd day hair refresher just scrunched in and it made my hair really soft and defined the curls and waves really nicely. I'm definitely going to continue using the sample size I have, but I also think it is overpriced for the ingredients. I'm thinking of trying MO as a product on its own and see if it works just as well.

this product is to dang expensive to not work. Ladies, DO NOT buy this product! It has terrible ingredients and lackluster performance. You can get products with the very same ingredient list and better performance for under 10 dollars. and also organic products for at least 30 dollars cheaper than this.

I used this product to moisturize a 5 day old twist out. My first opinion is I didn't like the smell. Secondly, I noticed the main ingredient was petroleum which is heavy and attracted lint. When I applied it to my hair it was immediately softened and moist. I used this in conjunction with olive oil ecostyler gel and the next morning I woke up to a well defined twist out. I would use again only if I have none of my staple products available.

I have a sample size thank goodness. This stuff is heavy and greasy. I like the baby smell, but I just don't see this being for me. My hair can accept heavy products, but this is too greasy and not easy to spread. I could only see it really working on a really poufy afro.

Was very excited but a little taken aback by the high cost. I ordered it. It smells great but for me it only works (adding moisture) for a few days then leaves my hair dull and heavy. It takes a lot to get a good result. I am discontinuing this.

Tried this on my daughter's hair and didn't like it not one bit. Her hair was dry and sticky. Has a nice smell that is about it. Save your money if you looking for curl defining with try eco styler gel & looking for moisturizing try the shea moisture line. This buttercreme didn't moisturize my daughter's hair at all and is very expensive

This product is ok. It makes my twist outs look nice and moisturized but I HATE the smell!! I cannot take it. But when I have it in my hair people tell my that my hair smells nice. But I will not buy this product again because it breaks me out and way over priced!

I used this product on dry hair and my curls looked pretty nice (thats why I gave it two curls ). They were shiny and frizz free however the next day I woke up looking like a troll. My curls were terrible looking and washing it out was a nightmare as well. It has the consistency of Vaseline and smells like a cream that you would use on a babys butt. I used it because I was going by the name because the ingredients suck too. Lesson well learned here.

I did like how it defined my curls and gave me big 2nd day hair on the first day but after that it was all down hill. This stuff is very greasy and heavy! My 3b curls were weighed down by this product ingredients of Petrolatum, Glycerin, Mineral Oil and so forth. Glad i didn't actually buy this expensive stuff and was given to me free as a giveaway at an natural hair event!

Out of all of the Miss Jessie's product, this is my least favorite and I am not a fan of this line. I tried using this to moisturize my wash and go's and the product just kind of sat on top of my head. It felt a little residuey. I don't like the smell, very pungent perfumy lemony smell. It is not moisturizing. I did not really like it for twists. I have a big ole tub of this just sitting in my closet.

Love this stuff!!! Don't no why I wasted my time being a PJ. I used this for years prior to coming to the Naturally Curly website and had great results but I just had to try all those "Natural" products. No product moisturizes and gives me bounce like this...I use it as a daily moisturizer on dry hair type is 3C and 4A mix. No matter what styler I'm using, this just makes my hair better (shiney, full & soft)....guess my hair just likes mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin, glycerin and all the other oils and butters in this....oh also, my hair loves keratin and this product contains that too!!! I'm so glad that I took advantage of the BOGO and got two 8oz jars....definately a holy grail product for me.

I know I really shouldn't be loving this as much as I do because of all the crappy ingredients it has in it, and most importantly because of the price. And yes Titi and Miko are insane for pricing this as high as they do but I have to say it is worth every penny. For me, this is the only hair moisturizer I have used to date that thoroughly hydrates my hair because I find that a leave in is not enough for me. I've tried many products and many brands but always reluctantly come back to this because it really does work for me. I find that the trick is to only use a fingertip dollup on each section before you apply your styler of either gel or mousse and you're good to go. I say give it a try if you have super thick hair (especially in the crown area) like I do. You will hate yourself for spending the money on it but you will be loving how soft and shiny your hair looks.

Ewwww. I was talked into buying this product by the two sisters (the Miss Jessie owners) at their salon. They said it would be the "perfect next-day curl enhancer". I don't know WHAT this is supposed to enhance the next day, but it's a gooey, sticky, smelly mess. Like, literally a MESS. It's basically vasoline mixed with perfume and some other cremes and goops (most of which are not natural or good for you). If you put this on top of curls, it totally ruins the curl pattern and either pulls it straight, weighs it down, or makes it puffy. $32 mess-in-a-jar.

For 32 bucks these women should be ashamed of themselves. Baby Buttercream just sits ontop of the hair and leaves it feeling gunky and heavy. The reason I gave this product two stars was for the amazing smell and the really cute packaging. Otherwise you might as well by a bottle of vaseline for a fraction of the price.

I though that this product was okay. My hair wasn't super soft but it works better than any drug store creme; it just wasn't the best. In order to get full moisturizing benefits i had to use this product in conjunction with my other cremes and oils. This product does go a very long way!

I love the scent! This product leaves my DRY hair soft and manageable. When I used it on wet hair it was a different story. I mainly use it on two or three day hair, I think it works best on dry hair though. I think it's much too pricey so if you can find something cheaper that works better or just as good go for it.

    ***a $32 JAR OF VASELINE***

this mess is a mess!!!! i put it in my hair dry (like so you tubers suggested) and platted it in about 12 big sections and took it down the next morning. my hair was straight and sticking out. this stuff weighed it down and it felt GREASY!!!! the smell stuck around all day and night as well. so that night i double strand twisted it and it looked "ok" the following day. still feeling greasy tho. i got this product at a meetup as a product swap but i'm still upset because i had high hopes for the baby butter cream. hated the curly pudding too but that is a separate review!!!

Hey ladies! this June I'll be natural for a year! woo! Anywhoo, I've used this product for a while now (at least a couple months) and i'm only at half the container :)

I have a pretty thick type of hair and I really like this product! It makes my hair quite soft, bouncy, and shiny! Only reason I gave it 4 stars/curls is I wish the consistency was a bit thicker...? I don't know if that makes sense, but it's just that my hair is already cotton-y and I don't really need it to get any lighter, Lol. Yea that's it, it makes my hair soft but not moisturized. but anywhoo GREAT product and DEF. a staple styler!!

It left my hair greasy and nasty looking , It felt las if I needed to wash my hair all over again . It's not worth the price tag . The only good thing was the smell which I got compliments for so 2 curls for that.

I have type 4a/4b hair which can be hard to detangle while styling at times; however, I was able to use this product after washing my hair as a detangler as well as a styling product for my two-strand twists. I also used the product on dry hair to moisturize it before retwisting it, and I was able to comb through my hair easily with the product.

I have a love hate relationship with this product (and Miss Jessie's as a company). I HATE that "kinks to curls" motto they just irks me. I feel like they are trying to "sell" the dream of good hair..and the false promoise that using thier expensive products will give you that. That being said, I've used this product and while the price point is outragious, the product is ok. When its really cold here (I'm talking below zero wind chills) then I use this. All the mineral oil, bees wax and linolin coat my hair and protect it from the harsh weather. The draw back is that you MUST wash this stuff out with a sulfate shampoo. It builds up rather quickly and while it's marketed as a "moisturizer" the moisturizing effects are only temperary. Just one glance at the ingredients will show that most are things that will sit on your hair and clog it up over time. So, if you goal is to sort of "seal" up your hair from the harsh winter elements, then this is a good product. But if you are just in the market for a good moisturizer, skip this. There are much better (and cheaper) products out there.

I bought this product last year after a horrible haircut and then another to fix the horrible haircut. By far, its the worst product I have used on my hair. My hair is thick sometimes and needs moisture like crazy. Unfortunately this product didn't do that for me. It dried out my hair no matter how much I put on it and proceeded to break my hair also. I understand it doesn't work for everyone, but I think MJ needs a serious overall of thinking when it comes to product ingredients and pricing. Then they truly would be the best damn whatever they say.

Ok, I'm puerto rican and dominican so I have really curly hair. Its tough chosing a product cuz the "white girl" ones are too are not enough controlling and products for people with kinkyer hair is way too heavy. So I figured I'd try this one cuz its supposed to be less heavy and Miss Jessie's seems to be pretty popluar. Anyway, it sucked. I think the mineral oil fried my hair. My hair looked like a big frizz ball. The only reason I give it a 2 is because it smells good.

After not liking the Curly Pudding all that much (it's nice, just left some residue), I tried this cream and I have been happy with it. I really like it. It provides moisture, smells nice and my hair is shiny and feels healthy. I applied it liberally and used on my two-strand twists. I didn't have to put another other product on my hair for days. Not because it was extra greasy or anything, just because my hair felt moisturized. I like it a lot.

My ends were not happy the day after my 2 strand twists + BBCream. It may be the Mineral Oil... I added a bit of extra virgin olive oil on my second use and experienced less breakage but wouldn't recooment to 4a/4b fine hair.

I am passing this on to someone else. I was disappointed in the lack of quality ingredients for the price, and I was so hoping the product would live up to the hype in spite of the price. I have tried on damp and dry hair, always to result in frizz. Hve used in conjunction with curly pudding and on 2nd day hair. It is unworkable if I want to wear my hair loose. I gave it to my niece who is young and still wears braids because it gives a decent amount of moisture but absolutely NO definition.

Product is ok. I use is after using the curly pudding fro 2x twistout. Which turned out nice. I like the smell. Is pricy and I still lack moisture which may be due to previous style of heat/pressing of hair. Overall a good product, just need additional moisture.

Gross overrated and overpriced greasy mess.

I love this for my hair in combination with curly pudding. I put it on my wet hair after i use curly pudding.

Makes hair soft and moisturized and soft especially on my front hairline. It makes my hair in combination with curly pudding softer but still a good hold. And using this, I dont get flaky hair after a couple days from curly pudding. Eliminated! I love this stuff!

I use this product all the time on my 3b/3c hair even though it weighs it down a lot and is greasy. I love the smell and I use it to rehydrate my hair when it's parched or damaged by the sun. Gets it right back to the way it was.. healthy and strong.

This product is great!!!! I especially love to mix equal parts curly meringue and the buttercreme, so that while I style, the curls dry with a fabulous sheen!!!

I was really skeptical about buying this for my 3c hair because of the reviews, but wanted something to control frizz and provide moisture. So I purchased a sample jar. The result was horrible. This made my hair draw up into a frizzy, brillo pad looking mess. The smell was also great in the beginning, but as time went on, it started to remind me of foot cream.

This was my first Miss Jessie's product and I was really excited to try it, even though I've read a lot of mixed reviews on their products. "Thankfully" I was able to purchase a 2oz sample size (retail price: $9...for a 2oz sample! I should have known better) I want my money back. I didn't like anything about this product. In my reviews I try to give the pros and cons but I couldn't think of any pros here. First it smells awful - an overwhelming, cloying scent that seems to be an odd mixture of Pepto-Bismol and Johnson's baby lotion (no kidding). It left my hair feeling heavily coated and greasy. I tried it on both damp and dry hair and it didn't seem to moisturize either way. And its no wonder, just look at the ingredients. Bees Wax? Mineral oil and petrolatum? I'd think the people at Miss Jessie's would know better. These ingredients, and a few others in here, coat the hair and don't allow moisture in, they leave built-up on hair and scalp and they attract dirt and dust. Besides, mineral oil and petrolatum are cheap industrial products that should not be in a product that costs this much. And who can get past that price!

I was rushing to my local retailer to get the bbc because this was the product of miss jessies I didn't have and they were down to there last two. But anyway I was to late so when I brought the rapid recovery I recieved the sample pack free. So when I tried the bbc I wasn't quite sure now since my last review of the curly buttercreme I wasn't sure of how to use that one but now I have found out how to use the cbc I have actually fell in love with the curlybuttercreme it makes your hair soft & manageable. So now that I have the baby buttercreme it dosen't smell all that sweet and edible like it says it does. I think that the cbc works better than the bbc. cbc it has a minty smell but it late turn into a cocobutter smell. Overall I still think the baby buttercreme is okay I gave it a 4 for softness I stil think that this stuff is way to over priced like $58 just get the 8oz It last just as long or get a couple of 2oz but they do provide softness that does last a couple of days and a soft hairline if you know how much to use of this product. I would recommens if your hair is thr type that needs to be hydrated alot for dryness and brittle hair.

This product helped me through some rough patches with my hair. As, whenever my hair needed to be recharged or revitalized I would put this stuff in my hair and almost instantly my hair would start looking better.

The scent of the product could be better and the price of it is on the high side. However, it is still a really decent product nonetheless!

This smells good enough to eat. My hair is bit dryer than most so I thought this would make it soft....NOPE! It was just as rough but greasy. I would leave grease prints all over the headrest in the car and on sofas like I had a jerry curl! I also felt like it gave me acne around my hairline. Too darn expensive and greasy and hair does not get soft.

I like this product, and i find it does a nice job with laying down my unruly hairline. They smell is pretty good too. I dont use much, because i use it on such a small section of hair. It works okay, definately not worth $58. If it were $50 cheaper I would buy it.

I don't agree with the one curl comments on this product. This product supplies so much moisture, that you don't need to use so much. And for me I think that is great. This product is true to the advertisement. It does lengthen your curls and moisturizes. I am also very sensitive with my nose, that is why I use this product only in the daytime. So I don't sleep with the scent in my nose. This is a product I will stick with.

This product is awesome for renewing the suppleness of my curls. My hair tends to get very dry and is the only product that really adds moisture. I use it daily to keep my hair vibrant, shiny and moist. My hair feels so good after I apply it (wet or dry).

I'm told this has a babypowder type smell, but there was something in the fragrance that irritated my sensitive nose. The product itself was sort of coating; my hair did not absorb it.

I love this product for my hair and my 20 month old daughter. We're both 3c's although her curls are a tad tighter than mine. It makes her hair shiny, soft and very moisturized w/o being slick or leaving oil on your hands if you touch it. I find the product a tad too rich for my own hair, so I use a tiny bit in combination with a different moisturizing lotion.

This is as good or even better than the original buttercreme. It does not have the peppermint smell and is very moisturinzing. The pudding and meringue are really too drying for me. I have 3b/c hair that is quite dry. This really helps and last 2-3 days if you sleep in a scarf.

This was not a friend of my 2b/3a waves/curls. It added shine, but it felt heavy and gunky-feeling, even when I only used a teensy, itty-bitty bit. It didn't help with frizz or clumping or curls (actually pulled them out some). It was also very hard to remove from my hands after applying and later my hair.
