Smells awesome, wasn't satisfied with its curl setting properties. Doubt if i'll repurchase this product!!!

I love this product, but I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 starts because it doesn't work for me without other products. If I use this alone, on damp hair, I get bouncy globs, but I want elongated definition. When I use this with Jelly Soft Curls (or other gel), it's great. My favorite way to use this, however, is as a sort of "refresher", on 2nd, 3rd day hair. When my hair is completely dry, and loaded with products, I dampen it and rake in Curly Meringue. The meringue makes my hair spring into defined curls without having to soak my hair and start all over again.

I am not likely to purchase this product again. $7 for such a small sample was a bit pricey. It smells great, however I didn't feel as though it did much for my hair (perhaps I was expecting something different after seeing what the LI Condish does for my hair). I will definitely use what I have left, but I cannot imagine purchasing more.

Ok... Sooo I love the product! I used it with 100% Shea butter when it is freshly washed and soaking wet. I applied each section with Shea butter and then the curly meringue, I then did a twist out and sat under the dryer for 30 mins or you can air dry. The next morning when I took down my twist it was/ is super defined and it gives me 4 to 5 day hair. My curly twist out eventually turns into a curly "fro". This is a top 5 product for me. Only down fall is my hubby says it smells like sweet food or cake. Ohh and I have 4c hair, extremely kinky and several different textures.

The jury is still so out on this one....I got a sample and tend to mix it with a leave in and kinky curly custard and it does give me very soft, shiny, bouncy curls but not as much hold as I'd like. I'm afraid of using too much. Smells a little weird. Price is redic

After I washed my hair I applied this product and some oil (either Pure Jojoba oil from the Vitamin Shoppe or Moroccan Argan oil from Garnier Fructis) & threw it in a pineapple with a satin cap. I always wash my hair at night. When I woke up the curls looked defined, felt soft, smelled wonderful and looked moisturized. All I did was throw whatever oil I used the night before which I cannot remember and went about my day. I've used this multiple times before mainly for twist outs and I did enjoy the results. But due to the price and the SOMEWHAT thickness of the product I didn't feel it should be used as a 2nd+ day moisturizer. I prefer using light leave-ins rather than heavy creams or smoothies. I feel like the thickness will just cause product buildup. So definitely use it for wash n' go's or twist and braid outs. BTW your hair still smells wonderful by day 3. Miss Jessie's products are usually good and I use them for the same purpose as I did with Curly Meringue, I just hate how expensive it is.

This product is great. It provides the best curl definition I've ever had and doesn't weigh my fine hair down. Of all the Miss Jessie's products this one is my favorite. It's a staple but not a HG because of the price. 5 stars - Best curl definition ever!

This product would be perfect if it weren't for the parafinium liquidum as second ingredient....
Anyway, it gives me perfect curls after I scrunch them once they are totally dry. I air dry them so I have to stay 2hrs with wet looking scrunchy curls (a look I don't like that much) before I can break the cast of the product by scrunching my hair once totally dry. But the result for three straight days is so nice that it's worth it.

Do not like this product, hate the lemon smell, but will say that I like that offers the small sample sizes for 7.00 and I have tried all the Miss Jessie's' Products,I dislike this one the most. But I do see that they made a change in the ingredients because I brought this 2 1/2 years ago still have the bottle and the first three ingredients are water, petrolatum, and mineral oil. So at least they are trying the more natural ingredient route.

I got the free sample of this and tried it literally just to convince myself that no hair product could be so good it's worth $38. I don't think it's quite worth that, but this is my dream product. I got shine, definition, volume, and nothing to complain about. I'll never use it again because I can't bring myself to actually pay for it, but I love this product!!

This stuff is awful! First of when it wasn't a smooth application it felt as thought i was putting gunk in my hair. Second this stuff smells terrible I can't even describe it but I know I don't like it, if you are sensitive to scents don't even attempt to use this, gave me a massive headache. Lastly my hair feels dry like water hasn't touched it in days yet I just washed and deep conditioned. I'm so glad i got this product as a free sample instead of wasting my money on this overpriced gunky excuse for a product.

This product is GREAT, it provides the Ramen noodle definition that I sometimes like. I apply to may hair while its wet, as the wetter it is the less you need. I let it air dry and the next day when take my twist out my curls are popping. I don't like the price $22 therefore its not my staple. This purchase is only made during bonus time lol. Also the more I use it the more I have to wash my hair so i don't use it a lot. rating is 3.5

I do not like the lemony smell of this product. It is pungent and loud. I only tried using this for twist-outs and I was not impressed. I did not try this on a wash and go. I would not re-purchase this, and I am so happy I bought the 8 ounces and not the big ole tub of this. As it sits in my closet....

This is my absolute favorite styler. I use this product each time I do my twists. When I try other products to do my twist, I'm not as pleased as I am with Curly Meringue. It has a very nice scent to it, and it has lots of hold, so my twists never come undone. I also get a lot of shine. This is a keeper for me. I have three jars of this- I never want to run out of it. It also defines curls really well. I don't have a curl pattern, but when I apply this product then brush it through I have lots of popping curls.

I did a two strand twist and the next morning it left my hair incredibly dry, like hay. I also tried it as a wash&go. When it was wet it was gorgeous, great curl definition. Then when it dried it was hard, crunchy residue

I was very pleased and have since purchased some of my own... when I heard it was on sale of course. :-)

I absolutely LOVE this product! My only issue is that it leaves my hair kind of crunchy. The results outweigh the issue because it gives me nicely defined curls, shine and it smells so awesome!!!! I am going to mix some conditioners or something to see if i can get a better texture with this product in my hair but I love it.

This product gave me a beautiful twist out! This gave my curls great hold, but also left my hair shiny and really soft. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because of the price - which is ridiculous! But I will definitely stock up on in during the BOGO sale.

i'm glad i only purchased the trail size. i might as well have slapped some blue magic in my head cause that's how greasy this stuff was, i was rocking a jerri curl for real. and the smells nice and sweet at first but after a while the sweetness turns sickening. as far as defining my i get way better results with water and gel. and as far as softness, it left my hair feeling dry but greasy as hell at the same time. would not recommend this to a friend.
i followed the directions on the label but it just did not work for my "jerri" curl hair

This is actually a really nice product. It gave my 3b 3c curls nice soft definition and decent hold with a nice scent. I only gave it a 3 because it contains a water soluble silicone(PEG-12 dimethicone). Im trying to go CG so any kind of silicone even water soluble ones are a no for me but thats a personal preference...

    Hi Curlies,

Word of advice for using Miss Jessies Products--"LESS IS MORE". I learned this the hard way. I would always get frizzless crunchy curls when using this product with a wash n go style. I realized I was over saturating my hair with it. When I use a small amount, my curls are beautiful, defined, moisturized and soft. If you over use this product you will not be happy. Oh! and over using the product produced more shrinkage for me. So, just use it wisely. ;-)

I gave this product a 3 simply because of the smell. It smells like candy to me! But on the downside it caused dryness and that crunchy feeling. When it apply it to my hair wet or dry it just feels a little strange. The flaking was atrocious. My black sweater looked like it was covered in salt! But on the upside I LOOOOOVE the conditioner. I add a little olive oil in there and use it as a shampoo my hair was moisturized. Would i purchase it again?... only if I HAD to, so no.

I love this stuff! I use this for my wash and gos and I get soft, moisturized, bouncy curls EVERY time. I love the smell and it has enough hold for me to get at least 3 good days out of my wash and goes (usually 4). I have been using it for several months now and I love it so much that I tried other things in the line and have been equally pleased. This line gets a lot of flack because of the use of mineral oil and the price but it is all right with me. It is so rare to find a product that actually delivers on its claims so I don't mind the expense. As far as ingredients, well I have been natural my whole life and have used everything under the sun from all natural concoctions that I made in my kitchen to silicone laden products with ingredients lists full of things I couldn't pronounce. What I have learned is that there is no one size fits all when it comes to hair.

An old friend put me on to Miss Jessie’s awhile ago but I could never find it. I mean, I saw it on their website, but I wasn’t going to pay shipping and handling on something I’ve never tried. One day walking in Target, I saw they finally got a shipment of Miss Jessie’s and I went nuts! I bought almost one of everything on that shelf. This is one thing I could have done without. This product leaves my hair over moisturized and I don’t know what exactly it’s supposed to do. I tried the 2-strand twist method with this…fail. Never again. The smell is tooty-fruity and coconutty, cool, but enhhh.. I don’t get the point.

This stuff really works best on kinky hair. Portion is key. A quick dip of a finger tip for each twist. I must be honest I do not use as directed. Heat never gets applied to my head. This stuff is great with a good air drying. Do smaller twist for kinky hair. I love this stuff!

I like this product as a M-F styling option (at least while I have a TWA). The Curly Meringue is lighter than the Curly Pudding. Therefore, there is less of an incidence of build up. This product really defines my curls with the right amount of moisture. My only misgiving is the price. As Miss Jessie's products are not natural, the price is really unreasonable.

Ok so...I have been using the curly meringue and curly pudding for some time. And i've come to this conclusion:
on MY hair~not good for just wearing it out. ~Excellent for twists(i dont like braid outs).
My twists were very well defined, shiny, and they last long. But if i shingled it through my hair without twists, it defined while wet, but when dry it was big, frizzy and made my scalp itch SO bad! (maybe it dries my scalp). i would buy this again to do my twists. its my staple in that area.

I've had bad experiences w/ most of Miss Jessie's products (pudding, buttercreame). At least to me, it seems that they are for 3A-4A hair. However, I was surprised at how the Curly Meringue worked and held my curls, esp. w/o having long hair. It's a bit greasy, but I used shea butter w/ it. Next time, I'll just use it by itself. Also, it seems that I only has buildup when I sat under a dryer to let it dry. I think if you air dry during the day or overnight, that avoids the problem. I won't use it everyday, but I'll keep it in my arsenal.

I was introduced to the Miss Jessie's product line when someone gave my mother some Curly Pudding. My mom later bought me a bunch of the products including the Meringue. The hold it offers is fantastic! I leaves an unsightly residue/flakes unless you apply it to wet hair. I prefer Curly Buttercreme. This is the only Miss Jessie's product that I have a complaint about. Everything else is wonderful to me....

I did a flat twist out on my hair using Ms.Jessie's Curly Meringue and I liked the way my hair came out. The twist held well and thats what I was looking for. I used a little curl milk to soften up my hair because it did have a little crunch to it once I took the twist out. Over all I like the product and will use it again.

I received this product as part of the Transitioning Cocktail package. It's okay. It does leave one's hair feeling a bit crunchy, and it's not the most hydrating. So, by default, one needs to use it with a moisturizer.
I do, however, think that the Miss Jessie's product line is over-rated. There are products that perform better, and are less expensive.

I was very excited about using Miss Jessie's and I was sadly disappointed. I love the smell but did not like the crunchy feel of my hair. I am transitioning and I mainly use all natural products. I think I'm gonna stick with that! Waste of money and I've decided to mix some natural products into the meringue so hopefully I can try to use. And the buildup is horrible!

definition and shine....2 of the attributes listed for Miss Jessie's curly meringue. And that's exactly what I found when using this product. It defined my curls and my hair was shiny. I am very pleased with the outcome of my hair using this product. I sometimes add a little of the curly meringue to other products to bring out my curl definition. I will continue to use this product and would recommend it to others with 3c/4a type hair.

MJ Curly Meringue is the greatest! I have very dry, straw like 4a hair. I've tried other products during my transition stage and finally tried the CM. I loved this even over MJ Curly Pudding! It does exactly what it says - oingy-boingy curls with a fabulous shine. Loving the fresh "meringue" scent as well. Combined with MJ Curly Buttercreme for daily maintenance, this is the best product I've used since going natural.

I loved this product when I first tried it.. it made my 3b/3c hair look absolutely beautiful. The curls were well defined, pretty and full. The second day, it was all dried out, droopy and tangled. I wet my hair and reapplied the product (detangling along the way which took a long time) and unfortunately it never was restored to the original beauty it had the first time. I'm a big Miss Jessie's fan but this didn't work as well as Quick Curls for me.

When I used it on my hair it's hold was a little lighter then the pudding and it had a little more bounce but I perfer a stronger hold. also I didnt really like the smell, but thats just me because to me it smells like banana's and I do not like banana's but it still gives a very nice curl and sheen. it works better on my daughters hair which is a 3a/3b.

This stuff has a hold like cement. The curly pudding has nothing on this. I did my twist with this and when it dried I thought if I squeezed my hair it would break like ashes and I didn't even use alot. *shrugs*

Very drying and leaves my curls more thirsty and crunchy than before the product was put in my hair. Absolutely not!

If you have 4a hair don't waste you money. The ingredients that are listed on naturallycurly is the old formula.

The new fomrula contains parafinium liquidum which is MINERAL OIL. A product that will stuck the life right out of 4a hair.

My niece has 3c hair and this product works great on her hair.

I so wish Miss Jessie's would go back to there old formula's.

I love the way my hair looks when I put this product on freshly cleaned and conditioned hair that is soaking wet -- I get the prettiest, shiniest, well-defined curls. BUT, when my hair dries with this product, I get super dry, crunchy, hard, untouchable hair. I was so disappointed, because things started out so well. I can't use this product on my delicate 4a curls, because after it dries, it feels like my hair will crack and break off. I'm surprised to hear some say that it is moisturizing. From my experience, it sucked ALL the moisture out of my hair -- it took several deep conditioning treatments for my hair to feel normal and moisturized again. I'm giving it 2 curls because it at least starts out looking pretty. MJ needs to find a way for the product to maintain the look you can create with this cream without the extremely, drying effects.

I have 3b curls and the Curly Meringue is too heavy! It makes the curls stiff and totally drys out my hair. The only time I can get any use from it is if I am in a rush to get my hair staying in one place (when don't have time to wet and re-dry). But even after doing that I have to immediately wash it out the same night.

I love this stuff! It took my 3c hair to a whole another level and I never looked back. MJ Curly Meringue and the MJ Butter Cream is the two products I can't live without.I have well define curls with MJ Curly Meringue. It gives me softness, shine and lots of moisture. MJ Butter Cream gives me a dose of daily moisture. It cost a more but it guarantees me my style everytime.

OMG!!! I HAVE ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE.I think this is a great product I love the way my hair looks after using the CM. Your hair is not hard it provides a little moisture I think so far this one is the best for the MJ CURLY PRODUCTS. I definitely will be purchasing this one again. If you haven't tried it yet try it you'll love it. It has kind of a wierd smell but it doesn't smell either. Smell of some kind of exoctic lemon fagrance.

Luv this stuff! It is a little heavy for my hair, but I think it was designed for more resistant hair. This product works great when I am wearing my hair back and with my "troubled areas". And its a great moisturizer. This is my favorite Miss Jessies product.

This is not for 4A curls. Don't waste your money, Chicas!

Hmmm, I not sure what to make of this. It didn't work like the photos on Miss Jessie's site. But I used it for a two strand twist on my sis' hair and that style is still talked about today (2 years later). I used the rest to do a curly afro do and I loved it.
Caution: It tends to flake a bit.

Great for my hair. Like most, my hair has several textures. The top portion is more wavy, while the middle and bottom is tightly curled. So I use this for my curls up top and use Curly Pudding for the bottom portion of hair. It works great!!

this IS the best curl creme ever!!! it relaxes my frizzes and defines my curls with a light hold. It lives my hair shiny and soft. I love this creme! i prefer the older version than the newer one that contains mineral oil because it dries out my curls something fierce

Curly Meringue is great for my primarily 3C hair. It nixes the frizz and defines kinky curls beautifully without making the hair "crunchy." This is my curly Afro puff product.

With this product, I had lots of "rope frizz" (looks like the coarse pieces that stick out from rope) and staticky frizz. When I applied it, my hair felt waxy. I also had minimal curls so it weighed my hair down.

Too heavy for my hair. But very moisturizing.
