I used this product for the first time last week. I followed the directions on the jar as stated. My hair came out very dry and brittle. I bought practically the whole Miss Jessie line during the bogo sale. I feel like I've made a terrible mistake. I should of known after visiting the curl bar salon in manhattan not to believe the hype. I paid $150 for a "trim" and twist out that I absolutely hated. I can't wait until this stuff is done. Or I'm just going to give it away. Probably will work better for another hair type.

This product was ok but with the amount of hair I have and the amount thats in the jar and the amount it cost doesnt go together. Ive already used up the 8oz jar and its only been like 1week and a half. It doesnt seem to give much moisture but it does stop the hair from being to curly/kinky. Im mixed with black, white, indian and probably some other stuff so you can only imagine how my hair is.

Does it work? Not for my hair type. Followed the directions to the letter. Will never by another high priced MJ product as long as I live.

I can't believe so many people don't like this product! I adore it! I have no absorption issues, I like the smell and I get absolutelty NO shrinkage. The length my hair is when I apply this is the length my hair is when it is bone dry after air drying. This is one of my favorite stylers.

Did not really like this product, was so exited when I order came in. It did not moist my hair at all, just on the top maybe and left my hair really fluffy after it air dried, perhaps I should have used more of the creme...

I found that if I apply this product prior to the curl meringue, I can get the perfect twist out because the curl is defined yet it looks and feels really soft and is elongated more than If I were to use the meringue by itself.

This product has a very strong aroma it can be too much at times, as others have said I feel this product just sits on
your hair. It had my hair feeling pasty.

Ok . . . so I have been very hesitant about buying miss jessies products because they are so expensive and from the reviews that i have read people did not like it. I finally went to Target it purchased this product yesterday and tried it this morning. It was actually wonderful, it left my hair soft, it didnt shrink my hair and it smells wonderful. I have very frizzy, dry hair and it kept my hair moisturized and it helped tame the frizz. I used this as a stand alone product experiment today and it passed my test. It did make my hair look dry after i let it air dry so i will probably use Carols Daughter hair balm for a finisher. Overall I loved it and will probably buy it again.

I'm so dissapointed about Miss Jessies. I went to their salon in Brooklyn and had my hair done by the two sisters... I really thought it was going to be an amazing experience from all the hype I'd heard, but I'm pretty sure the hype is all just from the marketing money they spend on the line, because nothing about the experience or the products was worth the money. I left the salon with a trim and a twist-out (done with the stretch silkening creme) that I could've done myself, and left with a jar of it to take home, and was somehow out like, $350...
The stretch silkening creme really does give me great *looking* curls, but it just feels REALLY gross. As others have said, the product kind of just sits on top of your hair, making a filmy mask, so when it dries, you have really well-defined curls that last a few days, but you have to hope no one touches them, because it just feels gross. It's not crunchy, or sticky... just filmy. It makes you want to wash your hair almost immediately. Also, it smells REALLY strong, which is ok on some days, but I found it often competed with my perfume, and I ended up just being a walking cloud of aromas...
I used Miss Jessies products for a year before I just got sick of the filminess and my scalp became chronically itchy from all the buildup and irritating ingredients. Now I've moved on to the As I Am line which is more natural, and gives me curls that are even better looking wiht out the mess... I really gave MJ a shot, but I won't be going back. They need to spend a little less on marketing and appearance, and more on the quality of their products.

I really liked this product. If you clean your hair with a clear shampoo and normal moisturizing conditioner and then add some light pomade to your hair and the curly butter cream it looks really good. It did well you just have to add extra moisture to 3c hair:)

I tried this product because my spirals causes shrinkage. This product made my spirally ends straight. Didn't like that. Will stick with Curly Pudding.

This product is awful for my type of hair. It put knots in it and was very hard to get out. I even tried it AGAIN using olive oil as a base and the same thing happened. It SHRUNK my curls. After blowdrying with a nozzle to elongate, it was even worse.

I was really skeptical about using this product given all of the bad reviews I have read about it. But I also was tired of wearing my hair in tight curls and i wanted to show a little of the growth in my hair. So with that said I rushed out to my local Target and purchased the 8oz container with no turning back........I went home and pre poo'ed my hair with another brand of products and then while my hair was still soaking wet I finger parted my hair and applied the product to it. The one thing that I didn't like was that it didn't seem to saturate my hair but it appeared to sit on top of it instead. So I conitinued on and I settled on two strand twisting my hair. The product does cause your hair to dry pretty fast, I'm assuming because the product doesn't saturate the hair. The thing that sold me was after my hair had completely dried I took down my two strands and it still looked as if my hair was still twisted! The curl pattern in my hair was more defined and even upon sleeping on my hair, my curls was still elongated and not smashed to my head. I was able to wear the twist out for a week with the one product application. I plan on using this product again to help with stretching out my curls until I can grow a little more length of my own.

Uhmm, why does this say it's silicone free when PEG-12 Dimethicone is dead in the middle of the ingredient list? I mean it's water soluble so it won't build up, but that's still misleading. Or a mistake. But yeah, regardless of that, this stuff was horrible on my hair. I tried it over my friend's house and it just sat on top of my head. It took forever to wash out too. I'm sure it works for others, but my hair, which likes almost anything, hates this stuff. At least I didn't buy it.

Once again, Miss Jessie's doesn't fail to disappoint. The mineral oil in this made me want to re-wash my hair about 5 hours after applying. Miss Jessie's has got to do better with the ingredient list. It makes no sense to spend this much money for products that are full of ingredients that will do your hair no good. I have two jars of this sitting in my pantry. I don't even feel right giving to someone else. Why pass on that misery to an unsuspecting friend?

I was very excited initially when I purchased this product at my favorite Target store but that excitement quickly turned to very disappointed with this product. It did none of what it claims to my 4b hair. I'm newly natural having just done my bc on july 4th. I know I'm going to have some product failures, I guess I wasn't expecting one so soon and especially from a product line I've heard so much about. With the price point on the products I'll think long and hard before another purchase.

My hair type is 3C. I pretty much have soft wavy hair that is really thick, full and out of control. I tried this product for the first time yesterday and I don't think I like it. It made my curls tight instead curly with some lenght and on top of that the product was really costly. This is not a product that works miracle so I think they could come down on the prices alot. I had so relaxer that was still on the front of my hair. so it didn't curl that at all. So i was really disappointed and upset I paid $40 just to try something that didn't work well for my hair. Once the relaxer is completely out of my hair and I have more lenght I will try it again. I did buy the curly butter creame and I like that. I love the peppermint that's in it, it make my scalpe feel nice, and does seem to moisturize my hair well too.

I am so sorry to be the one to say that this is probably the worst product i've tired!!I was soo excited when I brought this product and I could not wait to use it, but I was very disappointed! It just didnt do anyhing for my hair, it made my hair very dry, and my curls were lifeless. I had to reshampoo and condition my hair that same day.

I like this creme even though it has a strong rose like scent that takes some getting used to(it loses a curl on that). I wouldn't use it by itself as it is kind of strong hold and not very moisturizing-it's too light, but it does have a bit of hold to it, so I only use a little with the Quick Curls creme and some coconut oil and I get good curls with little or no frizz. It does beautiful on twist outs. Giving me shiny, firm, elongated, but soft coils. Best of all, the next day I can dampen my hair and re-style it into a twist out or finger style without adding any more product and I like that a lot.

This products works great for me. It doesn't get my hair as hard as gel does, but does provide separation of the curls. I use it after the shower when my hair is wet. For maximum elongation I twist while still wet, and untwist when dry. This product works better for me than the Curly Pudding because it doesn't take as long to dry.

I tried this for the first time today. I purchased the sample of this and the pudding, meringue, and butter creme. This is the first of the product line I tried. I was skeptical about it, but it worked well. I love the smell of it. My hair is soft and defined. I can't say it gave me any more definition than I was getting with the product I have been using for the last 5 years, but I was not disappointed with the Stretch Silkening. One thing it did not do, was elongate my curls/coils. In fact, I think I have slightly more shrinkage with this product. However, it did give it a nice soft hold. It's something I plan to use. I have to now compare the other products I purchases to see which one I like the best for my shake n' go style.

this was the latest of the Miss Jessie products i tried, and i have to say it took time for me to get used to the best application for my hair, but once i did it really made a difference in my curls..it helped with elongation, frizz control..it was a little cruchy at first, but then i put Baby Buttercreme and worked it through and it got rid of the crunchiness! When you do the Bogo..i will get it again!

I'm not sure why other people had problems with this product (i.e. smell, product feeling, etc.). I had no problems with this product and people loved the smell of my hair. I'm not sure if people looked at the tutorials first before applying this product. Also, I hope people do not get this confused with Miko's Silkening Technique which is TOTALLY the opposite of it (Miko's technique is a CHEMICAL processed while this creme is not). I love it!

I hated this!!! I need to be honest...I'm not real sure how it works because the smell was so bad I couldn't stand it. It smells like a perm to me and I cannot get past it. When I bought a jar of it I didn't want to waste it so I mixed it with the Curly Pudding to mask the horrible stench!!

Please don't waste your money! For $22, I thought I had just purchased a miracle in a jar, so far from the truth! Left my hair very dry and hard, as do alot of the miss jessie's products! I did see a couple of extra curls after using this, but it just wasn't worth the icky feeling hair I had afterwards.

It definitely defined my curls well, but after my hair dried it was VERY hard and VERY dry and I can't afford that. I suspect it's the mineral oil, and I think it would be a fantastic product if it didn't have mineral oil in it. I gave it a 1 because although does what it says it does, and it smells okay, it left my hair in quite an unhealthy state.

I really don't care for the stretch silkening cream that much.It leaves your hair feeling hard and crunchy as if dirt is bunched up in your head I really don't like the feeling and the condition that it leaves my hair in. I had to ad oil to give it some softness.Other then the fact that I don't like it,it smells great but it says it supposed to be the best and newest one out of there curl creams I don't think so. So I gave it a 2 for the smell. I won't be purchasing this product again. Try at your own risk.
