It is everything it purports to be! Not mentioned is the grainy-nature though, which goes away if you massage this in; but solely putting this on your hairline, it wouldn't go well. I wish it would impart some kind of hold, considering it was described as containing waxes in it. I'm low porosity, 3C with 4A sides, thick & densely packed hair so at 4oz for $14 this product can't be my solitary source of moisture. I will use it for finishing, esp with braid outs or twist outs. It gives good shine, is buttery sweet (not anything too distinctively sweet) and gives great shine and moisture when put over a leave-in.

I have not tried many product by Oyin but I love the pomade. It added shine and kept my hair soft for several days. I gave my twist out great definition.

Love this! I have 4C hair and I'm transitioning to natural. I got the Oyin Handmade Snack Bar, not the snack pack, at a hair show and I immediately tried the products when I got home. I. Fell. In. Love. Omg. After applying an Oyin Handmade moisturizer, putting this on top adds softness, a little bit of sheen, and locks in the moisture. Plus it smells really good. When I first saw reviews on this, some people said the scent was too heavy, but it's perfect! It smells lightly of syrup and vanilla. So addicting. The texture is kind of grainy but it easily coats every strand. It doesn't leave any residue unless you use too much, and a little goes a long way. My brother also used it on his 4C hair with the Greg Juice and he liked it, too. This will be a staple once I BC!

I am 11 months post big chop and have never used pomades on my hair. It is now fall and I have been on a hunt to purchase a heavy product to seal in moisture for the cooler months. This burnt sugar pomade is the truth! I will say that I did use it over the hair dew but also find that it works great over a different leave in conditioner or just plain water. Yes, this pomade is that GOOD! I personally love this brand and will only get my pomades from here. The price is affordable and you only need a little to get the job done. The smell does take a little getting used to but for the job that this does, I will excuse it. I do want to get my hands on the sugar berry pomade next-just to see what fragrance I like better. Shipping is always fast here and I absolutely love how CurlMart takes the extra time to seal all products. I feel that they care about their customers! Oh and who can complain about free samples?-LOL!!!!

Curl type: 3b/c, coarse, dry, low-porosity.

I want to eat Burnt Sugar Pomade. I really, really want to eat it. It smells like the most incredible Crème brûlée that could ever be imagined. I love the scent in what it creates as my soft, soft hair! This product is perfect for the incredibly dry desert summertime. I use it to SOTC, and for 2 strand twists. It's excellent for keeping definition over any other product as well. For a butter-type styler, it's surprisingly not greasy. A little goes a long way, so too much could be a mess, but this is absolutely the most amazing pomade I've ever encountered.

Outstanding definition!!! Smells like cake...little bit goes a long way..just add a little to my finger tips to seal in my as I am moisture milk and leave in conditioner...works well with other products...no frizz at all...allows you to seperate twists and maintain curl definition...no residue the next day unless you add too much..will be a stapler product for me now.

I love this product on very damp hair as the main product on the hair for twists, though not so much for second-day/dry hair re-twisting (hence the four stars). The pomade is also an awesome as a sealant anytime! The fragrance is yummy, subtle and just like the name suggests.

I love this pomade, I did a twist out on Sunday and when it took them down Monday morning I was Speer excited. This pomade made my twist out Super defined and a week later my hair is still love. Since I am a big product junkie I try products all the time but have only found a few staples. This is one, my hair is still moisturized a whole week later.

I absolutely love this product. First off, the smell is amazing. Smells like yummy caramel! This pomade is hella thick so I can see how people would use this as a twistout. It will definitely leave your twist out defined and shiny. I on the other hand am a wash n go type of girl. I am a FEEN for gel. All gel everything gotta be in my arsenal. And still havent found thee gel to lay down my edges like this POMADE. I had to stress that word, POMADE. Laid my edges like nobodies business. Love this stuff. Perfect for the winter time but I wouldnt dare where this in the summer.

Im not sure if can add anything new to be said about the product. It is chopped full of great ingredients. It plays well with other products. I use it to lay down my daughters edges and to seal her ends. Some complain of gritty felling, you just really have to break it down by rubbing your hands together .

Posted by juleswilliams (Type 4a) on 02/18/2014

It does have a strong orange sugar smell which I like. It is heavy so just a small amount is all you need. I am not a fan of pomades but I wanted to try it. I like the smell. I don't like how heavy it is. The best use for the product so far I found was to lightly coat hands to remove twist/braid outs. I could see this working well in 4a/b/c child's hair. That is my next idea.

This product does provide adequate hold for twist out styles, but not for edges and the hairline. I used it sparingly because of the strong smell. Even so, my hair did feel a bit stiff. I don't plan to purchase this again. I am going to try the EcoStyler that I keep hearing about (and is a lot cheaper).

This was my first time using a pomade in my hair. I am not fond of hair gels, so I decided to give the BSP a try. I tried using it as a sealer all over my hair, using sparingly, and don't believe I liked it for that use. I prepoo'd, shampooed, and added the Oyin Hair Dew before I applied the pomade to my damp hair. Flat Twisted my hair the night before and did a twist out the next day. It did okay with the hold, but not as good as I wanted. I couldn't imagine using any more product than I already had. Over the course of the day, my hair started to frizz. The smell is nice, but it lingered a lot, even well into the day. For me, that was a little much. It made my hair feel a little greasy/sticky, which I didn't really care for. I have since used the product for my ends and edges and found that to be of better use for me. Maybe it will work better all over my head in the summer. Overall, the product is good.

I really love this pomade. March 7th will mark my 1st yr anniversary of being natural. In the beginning I swore by keracare natural leave-in and their butter. But my hair always felt crispy the next morning. So I did some research and Curly Nikki reviewed oyin's hair dew. So being that I trust most of Curly Nikki's reviews I decided to place my order and try the hair dew, honey hemp conditioner and the pomade. Let me just say that All three were awesome. I use the hair dew as a moisturizer because I use giovanni's direct leave-in for added strength to my fine strands. I will always stay stocked with those products. Now I just have to find a good styling gel for the summer. Any suggestions?

My hair loves oil......This pomade seems to do what it promise. My hair is so moisturized for days using this as one of my product layers on my hair. At first the smell was so overwhelming to the point i was thinking, I cant go all day smelling this smell. But, i decided to use it one more time on my hair and the smell was not a strong scent as before. The smell is there for a few hours then it goes away, I can live with this....so now I am happy cuz it really does help my hair to maintain the moisture it needs from day to day.....Also, i only use the pomade when i wash then set my hair.

My daughter has long 4a/b hair, and I'm closer to a 4C and I've been looking for some good products to moisturize our really dry hair. Tried this after a recommendation from a friend and I'm in love! The scent is definitely strong, my husband says is smells like caramel and maple syrup, and I can see how someone might absolutely hate it, but if you aren't opposed to sweet smelling products I'd give it a try for some serious moisture sealing power, shine and a little hold. The husband has also taken to using it as his moisturizer and to smooth his waves...the scent is even ok for a man in small doses since it dissipates after a while. This product is a definite keeper and a new staple in my hair arsenal!

I used to struggle with keeping my type 4 hair moisturized, but thanks to this (strongly scented) product, my moisture stays sealed in!
The scent fills my entire house and has everyone asking me what do I have that's sweet; my boyfriend says that it makes him want to eat my hair (yikes!)

I just received my Oyin packages i ordered to Switzerland, and i wasn't at ALL happy with the cost of shippings i paid on the site 40dollars then at the post office 30dollars so i was really thinnking it better works otherwise waste of money...

I was using the LOC method with a spray mist of rosewater then KCKNT, organic Coconut oil and to finish refined organic shea butter or Belle Unyevu butter, and i was pretty happy to have coconut oil back into my moisturising regimen.

First impression with the BSP was "wooooww what is this strong scent" it's very overwelming and smells like burnt sugar with gingerbread...So 2nd day i used it to seal my strand and could totally feel th power of all those great ingredients inside and i'm starting to tolerate the scent BUT it's still there so i'm thinking of ordering the Sugar berry one to not smell like sugary candy all morning

For now i really enjoy Oyin products :)))))

I'm grading on a curve here. This is excellent on wet hair to seal twists. It plays well with leave ins ( although this is scented in a way that overpowers the scent of everything else you're using). The smell is pleasantly pleasing. I'm not getting a sugary scent but more like... pancakes with a ton of syrup, so sweet but kinda buttery. It is also great on dry hair for a hit of shine. It loses 1/2 a point for gritty-ness, thus the need for a curve. Oyin, you need to work on that. I would have taken that point away if the grit didn't rub away. Great product overall.

Would have given this five stars, but the smell is overwhelming. I think I might have used too much the first time, so I won't use as much next time. If less product still leaves a strong smell on my hair, I will not reorder it. It's a great sealant, but the smell is too strong. It's not bad smell, but it's just too much.

I've been buying this for more than 6 months now, and everytime I see an opportunity for free shipping, this is the first thing that I get! I like to have on in use, and one in storage in my closet. I use this on my hair after using the oyin hair dew leave in, and my hair has never been healthy. This, with the combination of extra-dark Jamican black castor oil is win! Please don't ever stop making burnt sugar pomade. My mom is hooked too, and we'll both be sooo disappointed to have to start the search all over again!

If I could give this product 0.0 stars, I would!
This product is my biggest disapointment since I went natural and have stuck to expensive natural brands!

I really wanted to like this product after rave reviews but this product lacks everything a "pomade" or butter is supposed to do:
-Oyin's burnt sugar has NO, ABSOLUTELY ZERO hold on 4a-c hair.
    -It has NO SHINE
-It is emollient (that is, a barrier to moisture), and seals a bit that's about all.

I bought this in order to seal my ends so that they would not tangle. OYIN does not deliver.

    I will go back to
-Karen's body beautiful "butter love" for holding my ends!
-Jane carter "Twist & Shine"....for SHINE!
And on my daughter's 3a hair...Kinky Curly jelly...for shine and
Jane Carter 's Twish and shine : for the best hold and shine that you can get on 3a hair without residue.

This product should be sold only in a drug store.

Did I mention the overpowering smell.
I liked the smell, but its intensity, which at first goes unnoticed is overwhelming as time goes on.

My family came home and said: what is that intense terrible smell??????

I had the Oyin in my hair for only 1 hour.
    I threw away the bottle.
    Will never use again!
Will never try another Oyin product.

I will stick to these effective brands: Aubrey Organics (for conditioners), Jessicurl (for the gentle cream shampoo), Giovanni (for the silk conditioner), Curl Harmony (in the UK, best conditioner ever!), Darcy's Pumpkin seed (best leave in conditioner ever!).

really disappointed! the smell is horrible. Maybe it's me, but the smell is strong and overpowers. It kinda smells like something burnt. I love my natural 3c curls, but I hate it if my hair smells funky after I just washed. If you are sensitive to strong strange odors- do not buy this one. Money down the drain....

This product is my new fave. It's amazing....it smells like cake. cupcakes and love. If I want a super defined look I seal my twists with this or if I wanna have big fluffy curls I just lightly pass it over my wash and go. The smell is so deliciously intoxicating. I love this stuff. It seems oily in your hand but my hair just absorbs it. A tiny bit goes a long way. Get it girl!

I liked this! I really loved the caramel scent, but it is strong. It lingers for a few hours or a bit longer. I used this to seal ends, and on top of Greg Juice for a mid-week refresh, and the combination gave me an instant moisture-boost. The only issue I have with this product is that it's a little greasy--it's probably the castor oil. (Castor oil seems to just sit on top of my hair). A little goes a long way so it's good value. I'd love to use it for a twist out, but afraid of greasy residue...

Holy grail product! I have low porosity hair and hard water issues which results in slightly stiff/extra dry ends. I've used numerous products to aide with the problem only to get less than satisfactory results. I came a cross some reviews of other naturals that claimed Oyin's Burnt Sugar sealed their ends like no other product. Well it is true! Upon application it felt like butter, just wonderful This pomade not only smoothed and thoroughly moisturized my ends it lasted a few days therefore, not requiring reapplication which equals savings. 5 stars all the way! A little goes a long way/Not too heavy/does what it claims to/budget friendly.

smells wonderful. how are people complaining about a heavy/strong smell? this smells delicious and I'm pretty sure everyone I know compliments me on that when I give them a hug :p preferred this over the berries because it was less cavity inducing.

I'm still on my TWA phase, and I tell you, even with my hair being so short, curls were still DEFINED. hair was soft and oh gosh I still love it. respritz a little water and pick my TWA out and it shrinks up to day 1 hair.

I still may be in a TWA phase (BC'd in may, so it's about 2in right now) but this gives me enough hold without using creams yet.. still looking for an afforable cream for those colder months but for now I'm all about this pomade. smells GREAT, style looks and feels great, not too greasy and my hair is shiny and not dry and crunchy!

It was ok I guess. I don't really use pomaded so I am not sure if it's the bees knees. A little goes a long way an it has a really heavy burnt substance type scent which took almost the whole day to go away. I wouldn't buy it again simply because I really don't style my hair using pomade that much.

This product only gets 3 stars from me because of the scent. Excellent ingredients and a smooth shimmery texture but a big "thumbs down" for the smell. It was waaaaay too sugary sweet smelling for my taste. I didn't use it because i knew i couldn't tolerate that smell in my hair and wanted it un-used for the return. I returned it and purchased the Sugar Berries scent instead, haven't received it yet but i think i will like it better. :)

At first I didn't like the smell, it smells like The Amber Romance fragrance at Victoria Secret. After a week the smell grew on me although it is very strong. It lays down the edges beautifully. Most edge control products contain water but this is all oil and a little wax. I also use it with the Kinky Curly Knot Today for my wash n go...soft moisturized wash n go.

For some reason it takes Curl Mart a while to ship Oyin products (almost a week).

Hey all! I purchased a sample size of this product a few months ago to test it out on my loose natural hair. It's a great pomade, I LOVE the smell and it doesn't linger too much...even if it did I'd still love it. Plus I got a soft but decent hold which is just what I wanted. Now a few months later I have starter locs. I recently washed one of my locs just for the purpose of retwisting my hair with this pomade, and turns out I STILL love this product! Again I received a nice hold without the hard crunchy results from hair gels. Additionally this pomade doesn't contain beeswax which is a MAJOR plus for those w/ locs who don't want to deal with build-up issues. I'll definitely purchase a larger size of the Burnt Sugar Pomade!

I wasn't impressed with the texture of the product, but it smelled great and melted in my palms well. I combined this with the Camille Rose twisting butter which worked really well for me. Since I have a blonde overall color in my hair, I need these great oils in this product to penetrate my hair shaft and keep them strong. However, after 4 days (in combination with the CR twisting butter) there is some oil build up. However, my hair still looks amazing and after 4 months of product trials and tribulations I am finally figuring out the right mix for my blonde colored 3c curls. This is a good product, just wish it was a bit smoother to apply.

The scent is a little strong and lingering. I tried this with a braid out (on a blow dried hair) and used Eco Styler clear for added hold. It was very pretty and shiny, but didn't last very long. I will next try it on freshly co-washed hair.

My hair is extremly dry and coarse. I typically use the L.O.C method (liquid, oil, sealing cream) to moisturize my hair. This pomade is the Truth.com! I simply dampen my hair with aloe vera juice use the oil or cream of my choice and then use a dab of this! My hair has never been known to be super shiny, but this product provides shine, hold and can be used as a great sealent!

I use this on dry hair to help temporarily mend together my spilit ends and will also run it lightly down my all my hair to help with that halo of frizz

Burnt sugar kept my hair moisturized and fantabulous for a week and that's HARD to do in Colorado! I co-washed with Tresemme conditoner followed by My Honey Child Coconut Papaya Paste and Oyin Honey Hemp detangling and moisturizing conditioner. The results were picture worthy! I wanted to renew my driver's license! It made the abuse my hair gets from riding in my convertible non-existent! So many women complimented me on my hair. I was finally on the other side of hair envy. The Burnt Sugar Pomade was the only thing I needed to seal my hair. It's phenomenal! Definitely a keeper! Thank you Oyin! You made me a rock star! I'LL BE BACK FOR A VAT OF THAT! <3

My hair is a dark, ashy brown...very hard to shine. This pomade does it for me. Just the right amount of healthy sheen. Not unaturally shiny like patent leather. Just a nice, healthy sheen.

Best. Frizz control. Ever. I love this. I use it as the finisher to my daily hair routine, and it keeps my curls spirally and my frizz on the minimum. I can rub it into my scalp a little, helping with dry scalp; I even rub a little into my skin, and it's lovely. Plus, it makes my hair smell DELICIOUS. The caramel scent combined with the fruity and vanilla-y smells of my other products and I smell amazing all day. Mmmm. I've had to hide it in my room to keep my sister from stealing it constantly, because it's mine, all MINE! That's how good it is. I highly recommend this.

This stuff is pretty nice. I only use this pomade as a pre-wash treatment because the smell is way too strong (it's not a bad smell, it's just waaaaay too strong). Before I co-wash or shampoo, I coat my hair with this product which tones the smell down AND still leaves my hair shiny and buttery soft.

This definitely helps with slick back. It smells really good all their products do. I used it to Oprah edges and worked really well better than my usual routine of water and KBN Shealoe with hand smoothing. If u don't like to use brushes just hand smooth it. I used this in conjunction with flaxseed gel (homemade and mixed with evoo) and water but I had already applied other oyin products too. Still at the end of the day my edges were smooth and no really annoying flyawats at all. Recommended!

Also I love smelling the scent on my hair through out the day, it reminds me of one of my favorite hazelnut candles. I'm a big scent person, so it doesn't bother me at all. This pomade is extremely moisturizing, as a matter of fact, if I use too much, it will make my hair too soft, especially when I blow dry it. This has become one of my staples!

Thi is one of the best pommades I have used, but I cannot take the intense smell. I wish Oyin would offer a toned down version for those of us who are fragance sensitive. Would have given it 4 stars for quality, 1 stars for the pungent intense maple syrupy smell.

  • 4

Posted by woodasr (Type Unkown) on 02/19/2012

I love this product. The smell is so intense it gives me a headache and makes me feel nauseated, literally. I wish they would offer a lightly scented version of this (as in 1/5th the frangance they are currently using). I smell like I poured an entire bottle of maple syrup in my hair. It would be difficult to wear any perfume wiith this product. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, hint hint Oyin makers. As a pommade, I have not found anything that works as well as this on my hair. I understand some people love the intense smell, that is why offering us an option at checkout would be good because one size shoe doesn't fit all.

I really like this product to seal in the moisture after using my leave in/styling products. The smell is heavenly, like a more palatable Bath&Bodyworks warm vanilla sugar spray (minus the strong alcohol sent). The consistency is wax-like but once you rub it between your palms it warms up beautifully into a thick oil for sealing. I also like to use it to moisturize my hair when I come home for work or when I prepare for bed. On a typical day when I don't cowash I use Juices and Berries to bring my curls back to life and then I seal with Oyin's BSP. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY and like most oils it works fabulously on both wet and dry hair. It can also be used as an aid to take down twists, braids and bantu-knot outs. I love Oyin and can't try the rest of their products!

  • 4

Posted by Guzophela (Type 3c) on 10/02/2011

Like most Oyin products, a little goes a long way! I'm still working through my tiny sampler!
This pomade smells AMAZING but is oily, so for people like me who break out from that, try to keep it a little bit away from your hairline! I've found that since I wear my hair out and it's too short to pull into a ponytail, I rarely have to use this but when I do, it works great. It seems a little heavy until you either melt it in the microwave or use your body heat, but after you apply it to your hair, you won't be disappointed! If you aren't sure about this product, MAKE SURE TO GET A SAMPLER! It's cheap, ships fast, and will last longer than you'd think!

So this is a pretty good pomade. It leaves behind a silky, rather than greasy feel and my hair drinks it right up. Why the 3 curls? The smell. When I open the jar and stick my nose in it, it smells of yummy, slightly over cooked sugar cookies. When I rub between my palms and rub in my hair, it smells of yucky, over powering maple syrup. IcK!!! It's a shame really, the pomade works great, but I can't bear the smell...

Love everything about it! Scent too. Besides Aquilina Pink Sugar, Dior Addict, and Hanae Mori Butterfly perfumes this is the only other scent I was ever complimented on by total strangers. And it gives shine and tames my hair. I want to hoard it so I never run out, but it says it needs to be used up within a year or 2, so will stick to small amounts. Got a 1 oz sample months ago and still barely made a dent in it. Need very little to get results. HG!

Now at first i was not the biggest fan of the smell it was a little like artifical maple sugar cookie ish. if you like those types of candles then you'll love this. but i did not hate the smell, it grew on me and doesnt linger that long. Hands down, the best product I've ever used to seal moisture into my thick hair.
As a couple other users have said, a little definitely goes a long way. The first time I tried BSP, I used too much on a couple of my twists (I use it to seal the ends) and when I took the twists down, I had that white-clumpy residue. I'm not sure if it was the BSP or the combination of products, but I haven't had any residue since I figured out exactly how much is good for each twist. I use this product combined with Kinky Curly Knot Today & Curling Custard, and my curly-fro has never been more fabulous (looking & smelling)

I ordered my sample side of BSP directly from Oyin . Love the sent. It's not a sweet as I thought that it would be..which made me happy...but sweet enough that it's smells like good baked cookies in the oven. My hair is a mix of 3C/4A and very shine resistant. I didn't receive a lot of shine wit this product...but moisturizing it is. And a little goes a long way...even in my super thick hair.

It feels gritty, and actually smells way too sweet. Now, we all know that I LOVE sweets- hence I can't stay a size 6 but for so long before I gotta pull my 8 & 10 jeans out the closet, but this stuff takes the cake (hehe). It smells like pancakes drowned in maple syrup. And the results are nothing spectacular. I love how the marketing on their websites will tell you that beautiful shiny moisturized hair will appear after taking down twist. Well, not the case for me. My twist had mediocre definition & absolutely no shine. I was actually disappointed at how dry my hair looked!

So here's the deal...this product did impart shine without the greasy feeling, which is really hard to find. It's also a great sealant. However, the smell is SO TERRIBLE! I couldn't wait to wash my hair just to get RID OF THE HORRID SMELL. Every time the wind would blow, I could smell it and it made me want to vomit! It smells like burnt sweet buttery popcorn. I'll most likely have to give it away to someone. If you're not sensitive to different smells like I am then you'll probably really like this pomade.

I bought this for my daughter's extra dry 4a hair. While I'm not a fan of the smell, she loves that her hair smells like "cake", and the oil soaks in really well and keeps her hair hydrated over the course of the day. I didn't feel there was much hold, but I also don't want anything in my daughter's hair that leaves it stiff - and she's a kid, so she doesn't need much hold anyway. I recommend this product. I like the all-natural ingredients and that there's "love" in it!

    love it!

it keeps my hair moisturized (and smelling good) for the ENTIRE week. All i do in the mornings is LIGHTLY spray my hair with water. The yummy oils etc are still there. Keeps the hair very shiny!

i also use it to smooth back my edges. I ran out of my other pomade (just a smooth mix of butters and oil) and i'm very glad i bought this.

and i live in Texas where it's hot and humid. I didn't mind the caramel smell in my hair. you don't need that much product anyway. SOLID PURCHASE

I love this stuff, it really moisturizes my ends and it a great nighttime sealant. Only thing is it's really hard to emulsify in your hands and on wet hair it can be white.

I bought this after reading a review on a curly hair blog. I totally misunderstood what this was to be used for. I purchased it as a moisturizer and found it extremely heavy for my hair. It smells great, slicks unruly sides down nicely, but overall it's far too greasy for my hair type, fine medium texture 3b/3c hair.

This is actually an update on this product. I actually left a review complaining about the smell of the product. I didn't want to get rid of it, so I decided to try it again. This time, I put it on my hair first, then followed with Oyin's Shine and Define Serum. Then proceeded to two strand twist a section of my hair. Not only was my hair super soft and defined, but the smell was not overpowering. My hair smelled like orange sherbet!! Wins my five stars!!

My favorite pomade thus far. It smells delicious. Sweet and foody so if you don't like sweet scents i wouldn't recommend. I use this basically to scrunch out my hair after my gel has dried. It eliminates the frizz factor and adds natural shine and a ton of moisture and protection from the dry Southern California air and sun. I also use this to seal my ends at night. This is bascally a..dare i say..HOLY GRAIL product =) I actually don't think i could leave my hair down and expect a good hairday without it.

Love, love, love it!!! This stuff does exactly what it says. I use it to oil my scalp, on my edges when I wear my hair in a puff, or I use it on my loose afro. Definitely a staple product for me.

I lovd it! Loved it! Loved it! It left my hair super soft and shiny and a little goes a long way! I loved the smell! It was an absolute plus! And it will be a staple item for me... The only thing that I didn't like was that it needs to be melted in my hand first before I could put it on my hair so that I can achieve a smooth finish.

This product does what it says, but I wish they would come up with a more botanical smelling version. I couldn't get past the smell. Too sweet and sugary for me.

The Burnt Sugar Pomade sunk right into my hair, leaving it feeling moist and not at all greasy, just as the label promised. It game my hair a moist feeling as well as defining my curl. Unfortunately for me, even though the scent is light and yummy, I was unable to tolerate it. That's the only reason I'm only giving this product 3 curls.

Fabulous! The only pomade I've found that both softens and adds shine to my 3c/4a, very thick hair! I smooth a little bit onto my hair after it's dried and set, and any crunch that may have been there is gone. The curls stay defined. It melts into hair so there's no "whiteness" on my dark brown hair and the softness lasts - unlike other oils i've used. It's a must in my house! (Oh and the smell is sometimes like sugar cookies, sometimes bubblegum-ish. It's a sweet smell; not strong. I don't have a problem with it.)

The smell is too yummy, and this mixed with a little Oyin Whipped Pudding makes for soft, moisturized, fabulous 2-strand twists and an even better twistout.

I like what this does for my hair... defined and shined curls, but I can't stand the smell.
