It's a little too moisturizing to use as your only shampoo. It leaves my hair moisturized but flat, heavy, almost dirty looking by the next day. And frizzy.. it didn't work for me. I love the smell but that's all I love about it. Mind you I live in south Florida so the humidity levels are through the roof all year. This would probably be better in drying winter months.

I love the smell of this shampoo like everybody else and as I'm from India most of my hair products have coconut in it.. I just used it for the first time and it left my hair soft and frizz free. I'm a type 2c and the shampoo didn't bring out my curls or make it bouncy as the description says.

first of all, i hate the packaging. the pump, as is so often the case, doesn't work. second of all, the big round bottle is difficult to squeeze if you have small hands. forgetting that, i don't feel the moisturizer is any good at detangling my hair. i also feel that it did not leave my hair well moisturized. i would definitely not buy this product again .

It's a good shampoo in the fact that it lathers up & cleans my scalp & hair. But it strips my hair like a sulfate shampoo would.

Unlike other shampoos this one doesn't strip my hair of all my natural oil. It cleanses but still moisturizes and leaves my hair very soft. I think it even defines my tight coils a little. I only wash my hair with shampoo about once a month (all the other times I use a co-wash) and this bottle has lasted me a while. I've used it maybe 5 or 6 times now and I've only used a fraction of the bottle. You don't need to use a lot of this shampoo at once, it bubble up real nice.

I LOVE the smell of this shampoo! Sadly, this is the only thing I loved about it. My 3a, low porosity curls did not like it. It left my hair dry and lifeless. Bummer!

Love this shampoo! Easy to apply, smells amazing and leaves my curls bouncy! This shampoo really defines my type 2c curls and makes my hair soft and fairly easy to manage. However it does sometimes make my hair a little frizzy, which is unfortunate because I love the smell and how it keeps my curls, well, curly!

Best shampoo ever! A little goes a looooonnngg way. I love the smell, my hair is moisturized and curls are popping when i use this. Way better than the moisture retention one imo.

Really like this product, it is heavy but very moisturizing and does what it says it's supposed to do. Since I have fine hair, I was afraid to use this product - especially in conjunction with other shea moisture products. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I used this shampoo and finished my routine with the curl souffle. I got amazing results. I would recommend this product, definitely for the cold weather as well.

I love Shea Moisture products - Restorative Conditioner and the Deep Treatment Masque are 2 of my favorites. But this shampoo made my hair feel dried out and sticky - craving conditioner. So I slathered on my Restorative Conditioner and now my hair is air-drying....stay tuned...

This shampoo smells great and cleans your hair very well, but it lacks moisture once it's rinsed out. My hair feels very stripped and immediately needs conditioner. I still use this product, but only when my hair is really in need of a good shampoo that cleans well. Not a bad product.

It felt nice and moisturized and smelt nice, but didn't clean my scalp at all. My hair still feels dirty and that I will need to re wash it in a couple of days when I have time. Will try again because I want to like this

Love this stuff so far. it smells heavenly and i used it to shampoo my hair and the curls were very defined and loose. it smells heavenly too. definitely going to make this my main shampoo since it has coconut oil and hibiscus in it. I'm 3c/4a hair type with very fine, loose curls and this stuff is amazing.

Hands down my favorite shampoo i recommend to everyone. I like it way better than the moisture retention shampoo which actually dried my hair out after a few uses. My hair is clean and moisturized and when I rinse this shampoo out the tangles start to fall apart I still suggest a rinse out/deep conditioner with slip to fully detangle.

I absolutely love this shampoo. It cleans my hair without drying it out. The scent is heavenly. Actually the entire line smells wonderful. I would definitely recommend this product. I can't think of any cons only pros. This is a staple shampoo in my regimen.

Absolutely love this product! Leaves a nice smell in your hair (but not overwhelming) and does a great job without leaving hair full of residue

VERY moisturizing, but it feels more like a conditioner on my head than a shampoo. I guess if you're looking for a conditioner for ur hair, this will do the trick. I just didn't like the fact that it didn't make my hair feel clean. I already had oils in my hair, so i didn't need the added moisture, i needed something to remove the oils, but not totally strip. This stuff doesn't feel like it removes anything. If you have hair that is damaged or ULTRA dry, i think this product would work wonders because it's so moisturizing. But if you use leave-ins and oils daily, this wouldn't be a good buy, at least in my opinion

This shampoo is amazing.Leaves my hair super smooth and hydrates it perfectly. My type of hair is really difficult, but sometimes,i just use this adding some kinky and curly leave in and souffle and works perfectly.I am in love with shea moisture products.

I tried this shampoo in attempt to find a local alternative to TGIN's shampoo, and I think that this one by Shea Moisture works just as well. My hair felt moisturized but clean, and I love the smell. While I do agree with another reviewer that this shampoo isn't the best detangler, I don't think that's the purpose of a shampoo anyway. This shampoo kept my hair moisturized enough that detangling with my conditioner was simple. I've read several reviews saying that the SM Retention shampoo is better - I have to disagree. I actually felt like that shampoo dried my hair out; I did not have that experience with the Coconut & Hibiscus shampoo.

I like this shampoo, it smells great although it smells different from the body product line. Definitely makes my curls pop but I think the raw shea butter shampoo moisturizes my hair better. It cleanses very well.

This shampoo made my hair feel a little dry. It lathered well, but I didnt like the scent that much but it is tolerable. It did leave my hair feeling slightly smoother but nothing to rave about. This shampoo is okay but i wouldnt use it regularly. I like the moisture retention shampoo a LOT better than this one.

All of SheaMoisture hair products are great for my natural 4a hair. I've tested many expensive products, only to be diappointed. So, I've just recenty decided to make SheaMoisture the only hair products that I will be using. SheaMoisture offers a full line of natural hair products so please advertise all the products other than just the shampoo.

This is the best, mildest shampoo I have ever used. I wash my hair around 2-3 times a week and use this every single time. My hair doesnt get dry. I pair it with the same brand of conditioner and it is awesome. It also smells lovely, like coconuts and pineapples. Really fresh. Oh, and most importantly this keeps my flaking, dermatitis scalp at bay!!

this stuff is AWESOME! I have 2b hair, and I was kind of afraid to get this because my hair gets oily really easily, and usually stuff without sulfates does not create enough lather to get it clean. This stuff did though! I was not fond of the smell when it was in the bottle, but once I put it in my hair it left a slight pleasant scent in my hair. it made my curls look so good and I feel really confident now! and for 9.99 at walgreens, IT IS WORTHHHH IT!

I love the product. It left my hair feeling smooth and easy to manage. However for my type of hair I only like it for Winter/fall season. In the summer time it just doesn't leave my hair as moisturized. For that reason alone I give it a 3.

I have 2b/2c fine hair. Even though it says it is for thick, curly hair it works for my hair. I use the curly girl method. I use this shampoo once every two weeks. Works great! Smells nice.

I LOVE this shampoo. Natural product, it smells heavenly - and it does what it's supposed to. Wonderful moisture retention; my hair never feels hard or squeaky after washing with this. It feels soft and manageable. It's also a detangling shampoo, so it helps prepare my hair for conditioner afterwards. It also smells really good! I love it.

This is the best shampoo for natural curls! the moisturizing lather leaves your hair slick enough to detangle and doesn't leave your hair dry after rinsing. Love it!

I really like this shampoo. It's more natural than other shampoos that I've tried and doesn't strip my hair too much. I also like that it's relatively cheap compared to some of the things I've bought before. I'll definitely be buying it again.

Shampoos are something that I struggle with. When I am in a hurry and don't have time for the baking soda & apple cider vinegar rinse I grab the shampoo. This one was really a great surprise. I am still amazed how my hair felt after I rinsed this shampoo out. Smooth and not tangled. I have only given a Curl Junkie shampoo a 5, and this one is just about that good. Still loyal to CJ but this one is right behind it.

I love that while this Shampoo is silicone and sulfate free it still gives me a great clean and also leave my hair very smooth. I normally don’t detangle during the wash process but with this shampoo I just can’t help not to.
