Styling Tips

  • Place a gel pack in each pocket of the Hair Therapy Wrap.
  • There are 2 rounded side gel packs and 1 middle gel pack.
  • Make sure that gel packs lay flat in each compartment.
  • Heat to desired temperature in a microwave or on the stove top.
  • Place disposable inner plastic cap on head.
  • Fit Hair Therapy Wrap over plastic cap with tail part towards back.
  • Then at the base of the neck, simply twist the fabric firmly for a snug, drip-proof fit. Use the hook and loop strip to secure tail on the top of the wrap.

Microwave Method for an 1100 watt microwave:

  • Because microwaves vary in power, you will need to find the correct heating time for your microwave carefully
  • Put the gel packs into the Hair Therapy Wrap provided and then put the assembled Hair Therapy Wrap laying flat into the microwave oven.
  • Always heat the gel pack with the hair wrap provided together.
  • Never heat the gel pack alone by itself.
  • Heat the assembled Hair Therapy Wrap on high for 60 seconds (DO NOT EXCEED 60 SECONDS FOR ONE TIME HEATING).
  • Let it stand for 30 seconds, if more heat is necessary, try a further 10-15 secondsand repeat this 10-15 seconds heating a few times until correct temperature is reached. NO LONGER THAN 90 SECONDS TOTAL HEATING TIME.
  • For microwaves more or less than 1100 watts, you may adjust heating times byanother 10-15 seconds up or down. Please proceed with caution.
  • Please be extra careful - the outside of the Hair Therapy Wrap may not feelhot, but the gel packs inside can be extremely hot.
  • Record the total heating time for future use.

Caution

  • Never apply the heated gel packs directly to the skin.
  • Always heat the assembled Hair Therapy Wrap with the gel packs inside together.
  • Do not eat the gel packs.
  • Do not puncture the gel packs.
  • Please dispose gel packs once broken.
  • Used only as directed, keep out of reach of children.

Stove Top Heating:

  • Bring 3 qts of water to a rolling boil.
  • Remove gel packs from Heat Therapy Wrap and immerse only gel packs in heated water with kitchen tongs for no more than 5 minutes.
  • Do not put the Heat Therapy Wrap in the boiling water.
  • Remove gel packs from boiled water with kitchen tongs.
  • Allow hot water to drain, let cool for one minute. If too hot, you may use cotton gloves to handle gel packs.

I ordered this when it was on sale. I do not regret that I ordered it. It does a great job for the price.
The indicated temperature and the indicated amount of time to use it, is just perfect. I deep condition every week with it.

I bought this for my daughter so I can deep condition her hair and love the fact that she can walk around the house with the turban on her head. I was afraid the turban would be too big for my 8 year old, but it adjusted to her head size. I was also pleasantly surprised when it came in pink!

This hair therapy wrap is a nicely made. Fits perfect. Only takes one minute 10 seconds to heat up in the microwave. Would recommend to all.

Currently relaxed but this was one of my first products when I was still natural. The design for the heat wrap has changed and no longer looks like it does on the image. It has a flap now and two ties that wrap around your head and stick to the front. The new design has been excellent. The first heat wrap that I got was too big for my microwave and and wouldn't rotate and eventually burned pretty badly. This new design is more compact and can be folded and fits into my microwave much better. The heat is very nice and comfortable, it's easy to wear and distributes pretty evenly. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the trouble I had with the first heat wrap I ordered.

I like this product. It leaves my hair nice and soft. It feels healthly, except and holds moisture well after I use it. I have low porosity hair. The gel packs heat well in the microwave. Some people stated in their reviews that the gel packs don't heat well but mine did. And it held the heat for well over 30mins. I love it so far and would purchase it again.

I really do love this therapy wrap but my fear is what will happen after the wraps that go inside the turban get old and no longer heat? I guess that for the cost we are expected to just buy an entirely new wrap. For now this therapy wrap works wonders and stays warm for about 20 minutes. I like other reviewers wish it would stay warm longer but the reality is that when we are in the salon getting a therapy treatment that we are under the dryer for about that long too. I would buy it again if it went bad and I do think this is a worthwhile investment for those of us who like to deep condition.

Not exactly what I expected. I guess I should have looked at more YouTube videos on this product before purchasing. It's small and does not heat up very well in 45 seconds in the microwave. Kinda heavy on the head after a while (worn for one hour).

wonderful! I tried it today for the first time, remained hot for more than 40 minutes so I guess it's enough for a deep treatment. for me it works well.

This heat wrap is divine. I placed mine in the microwave for 30 sec, then another 30 secs when it didn't feel warm enough and sat under it for an hour before the heat went away. It felt so good that I did it for another 30 secs and sat for another hour. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have to re-heat it after an hour. Easy to use, free from attachments like a cord, and soothing, penetrating heat... I will order this again!

I should have never spend money on this. The first time i got this the gel package got a hole on it when i microwave it so I started boiling the other packages that works better but i had to throw away the other package with the hole on it and i can never get heat on the back of my head or the sides so i just waste money again i give it a ,1

I love doing DC when I wash my hair, but despise sitting under a hooded dryer. I've tried other hair wraps, but this one is by far the best!! After I slather on my DC, I put on my plastic cap and heat up the wrap for 1:10 sec (depends on voltage). I wear my wrap up to 30 minutes. I'm sure I could re heat if I wanted to DC longer, but 30 min is enough for me. I get to do laundry, multi-task all while I DC. I use it every week. I think I use it too much as it's starting to wear :-( The cap has become loose and it takes a little longer to heat the gel packs, but I'll continue to use it until I can't anymore.

I am very unhappy with this purchase. The box I received looks the same as pictured here but the item in the box is not like the one in the picture, its the same color but a completely different item and it is very tiny, could probably fit the head of a 3 yr old. Don't waste your money.

Posted by JWilson (Type 4a) on 08/14/2013

I like this item and the price point is good. What I like most is that I can move about while I'm conditioning my hair. 3 stars - the back of the wrap has no gel pack. Therefore, the hair in the back receives no heat. I have to turn the wrap until a gel pack is back there in order to heat that area.

I have low porosity hair, so I bought this to help my hair absorb product. I used it with deep conditioner, and then put it on again for leave-in conditioner, gel, and olive oil. After I was done, my hair was much lighter weight, fluffy, and bouncy. It also had a little shine (What is that?) to it. And my drying time was a lot shorter. Today, I used it to help my hair absorb a re-application of leave-in conditioner, and it worked well again. Thanks for a device that helps hair absorb product that otherwise would just sit on top, and weigh the hair down!

I bought this for my hot oil and deep conditioning treatments. I love how I can wear this and go about my chores or do whatever I need around the house while treating my hair. No plugs, no wires, love it. The only complaint I have is that my ears were trapped under it and the heat started to burn my ears. I solved this by placing paper napkins around the tops of my earlobes. Other than that it did the trick!

this heats up and does the job, but it does not fit on my head like i though it would and like it does for the model on the box. the center gel pack has 4 sections, but only 3 fit into my hair wrap and so one is doubled.

I got this a few weeks ago and tried to use it for the first time. I don't like that you have to figure out how to put the packets in, not a good concept. I did not try it this time around. Since I paid for it, I may pick it up again next time I co-wash my hair, but for now not happy with it.

I just received my pink head wrap this past weekend. The insertion of the gel packs was a bit awkward in my opinion at first glance, but I got them in there after following the instructions. My microwave settings required me to use the full 80 seconds to heat my head wrap. The wrap fit perfectly around my head and it maintained its heat just like the product promises. The Aunt Jackie's Deep Conditioner I used with it didn't do much for my hair, but I definitely noticed the difference heat can make. I also love the idea that I am not stuck in one place while I am treating my hair. I can move around freely and get a good deep conditioning at the same time. I also thought the plastic caps they provided was also a nice touch. The Design Essentials Moisturizer sample I received only made my experience even better. I do plan on eventually getting a hair steamer, but this is a great item to use in the meantime. I love the color, the ease of use, and the price. Delivery time was on point as well. I would highly recommend this product. The only con I have it that I wish it came with the option of being in blue. :)

Great concept, poor execution. I bought one and it lasted about 2 months when used once a week. The wrap itself started getting really worn looking and then one of the gel packs got a small leak (yes I was following instructions to a T). Bought another one about a year later thinking product would be improved by then, same experience. Never again!

Very convenient. Heat lasts for about 20-25 mins for me, so I did reheat after a few minutes for another half hour of heated deep treatment. I would recommend to others. Hair felt much softer immediately after use.

I tried this product today for the first time and it is great. I did a hot oil treatment and a deep conditioner without having to drag out my bulky hooded dryer. I hove the fact that it is cordless so I can move around freely and do other things. This is a new staple for me!

I've only used it once but so far I like it. I give it 4 starts b/c I was trying out a new deep conditioner at the same time and I wasn't too fond of the DC so I will use the wrap again this week with my tried and true DC (Shea Moisture Purification Mask). My only problem is, it doesn't heat one spot in the back, you have to turn it to get the back of your head heated.

Using the wrap was a pleasant spa-like experience. It was easy to use and I could walk around and do other things comfortably while using it, unlike the experience of having to sit still under a hood. I like that it heats things up to open up the cuticles of my low porosity hair so that it can soak up the moisture.

  • 5

Posted by CristinaC (Type 2c) on 01/27/2013

This wrap is amazing. The wrap didn't feel hot to touch after the first 45 seconds so I kept microwaving it for 10 more seconds and then 10 more. Although it doesn't feel like it I suggest putting it on because I found that the gel was actually hot already. Once I had it on with my conditioner it felt so good I didn't want to take it off after 20 minutes, and my hair got a lot of compliments the next day.

Posted by chanellshair (Type Unkown) on 01/02/2013

I have a 700 Watt microwave, so I microwaved for 45 plus 10 additional seconds to get to ideal heat. to the touch, it didn't feel warm at first, but combined with my body heat it seemed to increase in warmth. Hopefully enough to open my hair follicles for the deep conditioner to penetrate. It definitely beats sitting under the hood dryer for 30 minutes. I give it 4 stars for convenience, energy saving benefit and ease of use. It would be nice to know if it's as effective as my hood dryer. I highly recommend it. In fact, I'm considering purchasing one for my mother and sister.

This is a great product. It's very easy to use, makes deep conditioning very convenient, and is reasonably priced. My only concern,or question, is how difficult will it be to get replacement gel packs (in the event that the current ones become damaged). Otherwise, I highly recommend this product.

Posted by Janos (Type 4c) on 12/28/2012

Welp glad to say that after about ten uses the gel packs have still not burst. It's a good item, doesn't get as hot as I like but when I pull it away my curls are still warm under the shower cap. Only problem is, it doesn't heat one spot in the back, you have to turn it to get the back of your head heated.

Very excellent product! Perfect while deep conditioning your hair.
Simply pop the cap into the microwave for 45 seconds to a minute, the cap stays warm approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Reheat when necessary, depending on your heat preference.
Instead of being confined under the hooded dryer, you can go about with housework or other business.
The only con is I wish the cap had a gel panel for the middle-back of the cap.
Overall, this product should be a must for anyone deep conditioning their tresses.

I bought this heat wrap maybe about 6 to 9 months ago. It worked great initially but after continued use the gel packs heat unevenly and recently one pack had exploded in the microwave after following the directions every time. I think I am going to go back to a hooded ionic dryer or deep conditioning cap. I guess I got my $25 worth :-/

This heat wrap is so easy to use; just put it in the microwave for 45 seconds! Amazing! I do have a hair dryer that I have to sit under and I haven't used it in years; too much of a hassle. With this heat wrap, I was able to do things around the house while I was deep conditioning and got great results. I highly recommend this!!!

Love love love this product!!! I will probably never sit under a hooded dryer again!! Because I have a hectic schedule, I was able to clean the house, attend cheerleading tryouts with my daughter, and take a nap-all wile giving myself a hot oil treatment. I can even deep condition while at work (of course with a fashionable hat on) and no would know!! It even came with bonus caps and samples of conditioner which is always a plus.

I love this heat wrap. You assemble it an put the entire wrap in the microwave. It also has a stovetop method if preferred. The only con for me is it doesn't stay warm long enough. Oh and I love the convenience of this wrap.

  • 4

    Posted by bfoxy4life (Type 3b) on 09/30/2012

I only gave it 4 stars because I have to rotate the wrap to evenly distribute heat throughout my hair. If I didnt rotate it the back part where the wraps start there is no heat there. That is the only downside to the product but other than that I love it. I can still remain mobile and deep condition my hair. You cant go to the store or continue house chores under a hair dryer or steamer. You cant beat the results nor the price

I purchased this product based on the reviews on this site. The Hair Therapy Wrap is a great product. I'm able to deep condition my hair while I do other things (i.e. I'm not tied to a cord). It took a couple of times to get it on my head correctly only because it's a little slippery with a plastic cap on your head). I'm sure that will get easier with time. Overall, a great product and made my hair super soft.

I like that this cap keeps me mobile. I think I have the newer version because on mine you pull the straps in opposite directions and then velcro them on top. The gel packs are also zippered in rather then velcro-ed in. I only gave four stars because I would have like to get it to cover my entire head, (the bottom back was kind of out, I have thick hair that was twisted and pinned down to fit in the cap) and I had to microwave twice (80 seconds each time) to feel as though I was getting a good heated deep condition.

I love, love, love this product!

It is really nice to be able to do DTs without being tied down. To be honest, I do more of them now that I am able to roam free around the house.

It works equally well with creamy DTs as it does with hot oil.

I like to throw mine on when I am snuggling in bed with my 1 year-old, giving her a bit of milk. The warmth is so nice and relaxing that I almost dose off myself!

It stays warm for 20-30 minutes which will feel really nice in colder weather.

The gel packs are a little awkward to put in the cap and it gets a little hard to hear when you have it on, but both are prices well worth paying when it comes to this product!

This product has uneven heat. The hot packs do not get hot if placed in container of hot (boiling) water. After contiued use gel packs burst in microwave. I feel that its better to put on a deep conditioning cap and sit under a hooded dryer.

Love it! Perfect for deep conditioning while still getting things done around the house. Heat cap for about 75 seconds. To tighten the back for a more secure/snug fit simply put cap on, tightly twist the strap 3-4 times at the base of your neck and then secure tip of strap to velco near front of the cap. Heat lasts for about 30 minutes. Good investment!

This heat wrap is great. I used to have to use hot towels or be tethered to a hooded hair dryer when I deep conditioned. Now I just pop this wrap in the microwave for 65 seconds and my head is nice and warm for over half an hour and I'm not tied to a hairdryer or sitting under towels that are getting cold. Only one problem with it: It's hard to tighten it up with the piece of material and velcro setup, so it doesn't fit super tight. Don't know why they didn't just put a strap on it so it could hook under one's chin. Other than that, it's a great product.

  • 3

Posted by browniesgirl (Type 4a) on 07/05/2011

Does okay. It doesn't get warm enough for me and it won't get as tight as I'd like to be. I do like the freedom of not having to sit under the dryer while I'm deep conditioning though. Also, it doesn't fully cover you head.

Does a good job. Definitely isn't as warm as I'd like it to be but for safety I suppose it's a good thing. I did bust one of the gel packs upon 1st use though so read the directions carefully and follow to a t. The hair at the nape won't get touched however because that's where you twist and wrap from & pin to the front. But in general it's a good product.

This wrap works great. I was thinking about getting a bonnet dryer to do DTs but I'm so happy I found this instead. It heats up well and last for about. 30-40 mins, the only cons is that the middle gel back doesn't go all the way down to the end of your hair so there is a patch of hair in the back that wont directly get the heat.

I just ordered this product and so far I like it. I work from home, so I actually use it every day after I apply my daily leave in and sealant. The reason I gave it four stars is because it's difficult to find the exact heat setting. Sometimes the packs inside start making a "popping sound" only to find the packs still somewhat cool. Also, I have to use a hair elastic to somewhat tighten it so it sits on my head properly. Otherwise, great investment!

I bought this last July and it's been a great investment. I use it 2-3 times a week for my hot oil, pre-poo and DC treatments and I notice a definite difference between using this with my treatments and not using it. Plus it's great that you're not confined to one place with this. The instructions say that the heat only lasts for 20-30 minutes, but I've left this on for an hour without reheating it and it still felt somewhat warm -- not piping hot, just warm enough to keep your head toasty. When I have worn it for over an hour, I've just reheated it and put it back on my head with no problems. It's really a fantastic little invention!

Love this wrap - I use it once a week to enhance deep treatments with heat. I use the little disposable plastic caps from Sally's with it. It looks goofy but really works well & it's comfortable.

Amazing results with this. I heated it for 80 seconds and it worked great. My hair felt really soft aftewards. It was also comfortable to wear. The only drawback was that I couldn't get it as tight in the back as I would have liked.

Used this with Wen Lavender Re-Moist Hydrating Mask. The results were amazing. This cap really applies and maintains the heat, transferring it to your hair. Combined w/ a deep treatment product, the results are terrific.
I microwaved it for the recommended 80 seconds, and that was perfect.
